As we have had 55mm of rain since last Tuesday land work has come to a halt ,so a house holder next to my farm asked if I could do anything with his conifer tree that was planted in 1966 he has trimmed it a few times over the years but just got to big so one chainsaw one JCB and job half done got to nip back with mini-digger and dig around the root and pull out

As it has been dry for a couple of days I thought we had better start making a mess so got my mate back for a couple of days to drive digger and spread out the spoil that came out of the ditch we cleaned out over the winter . Had to get tractor mounted straw chopper out to chop first two rows as big balers did not turn up before the rain last week

Whilst my mate was on the digger I started the job of moving about 400 tons of topsoil onto a very stiff/clay headland so hopefully it will improve it I did 23 loads in a ten ton trailer yesterday and have about the same again to move but rain stopped play again

Bit of a manic afternoon yesterday, i had delivery of a new 6ft fleming topper and 5ft fleming linkbox, then had to fit a new seat to the leyland as the base has rotted through and collapsed, new one fitted, still wobbles due to original runners being seized so we've put new runners on top and fixed studding down for now. Then went on to Yesterdays Farming for the weekend and made it with no incident. Also picked up a cultivator yesterday to go on the back, nice little one for a very good price, hoping to try out at the weekend. 39409656_1837170716369031_8195857512797306880_o.thumb.jpg.fa71f7b05d53d0fa19592d7d6647f3ff.jpg

Great photos john but I think you were enjoying piloting that 78 more than you want to admit. You must hae had better weather than here, been showers on and off all day.

We got rained off eventually, but just nuisance showers really, it certainly made it interesting coming up Wears bank with that little lot on in the wet, they're 4'6" bales and as heavy as hell, she was in bottom gear split and was just scrabbling for grip at one point, needless to say I was a bit clenched!:o:D
