  1. This looks great, really impressive build. I seem to recognise the wheels, what are they from?
  2. Another amazing addition. It is so difficult to tell if this is real or a scale model.
  3. Wow, that is looking really good. I have no idea how you keep the lines all so straight and symmetrical on your models.
  4. Looks really good, was this made on the new laser cutter?
  5. Maintenance on the drill and combine before we continue to push on with wheat harvest and rapeseed plantings.
  6. Potato harvest is under way on Lantau Farms, harvesters have been serviced in the new work shop, the grader has been brought from the other farm and the first field is now nearly harvested.
  7. I am the Head of Agri Analytics for an Investment Bank.
  8. I never realised how expensive 3D printing still was. At least I don't need to learn how to use CAD just yet and I can be safe that plasticard and kraft knifes will be the cheapest way for a while to come.
  9. Definitely agree on the plans and wheel sets. I would actually be interested in just the wheels and mud guards if the plans aren't possible. I always struggle when building trailers to get the right wheels.
  10. Thanks for sharing this, it is a great insight into your model making process. I find these sort of topics really useful for driving inspiration in my model making process. The trailers do look amazing, the details and the quality of finish are second to none. Congratulations. By any chance did Bailey Trailers themselves order any of the models?
  11. Can you double check the links, I am struggling to get to the just giving page.
  12. Silo looks great, another amazing peice of modeling.
  13. The inspiration comes from being so far away from home. My family farm in Lincolnshire, so it is nice to build a small slice of home in my Hong Kong garage, haha.
  14. Here are some comparisons to other similar size models. I would say the quality is very similar to wiking, would said it was higher if they had painted the rear linkage. It isnt quite as good as Marge, but relativity close. Tracks are actually better than the Marge ones. Still not a patch on the precision classics. So I think they are fairly priced for the quality.
  15. managed to get some paint on the Jones Engineering irrigator. Now just need to sort the pipe work.
  16. This is by far the most detailed new Ertl/Britains Tractor I have bought since the John Deere 8530 Precision Classic was released. The model is very heavy in comparison to most recent Ertl/Britains models. Also the attention to detail is far higher. Positives: - Fully working tracks with running drive and idler wheels. - majority of parts made from metal including bonnet and Cab roof. - Working rear 3 point linkage - folding wing mirrors Negatives: - turning circle of wheels is nearly non-existent - would have been nice for rear linkage to have been painted to cover up the plastic. - windscreen wipers are cast as part of the glass rather than individually mounted. Conclusion In general a great model, while this might not be a Marge, it isnt that far off.
  17. New Hollands are looking good, what is the plan for the JCB?
  18. It's getting there, not a bad weekends work considering the Britains donor reel has been on my workbench for about 1 year.
  19. Started building a Jones Engineering, had this on the project list for a while.
  20. As I need to make space in my garage to put a car, I have had to redesign Lantau Farms a little. I have actually managed to end up with more layout space, even in a smaller area. I have decided to add a large machinary shed. The base parts are from Britains Sheds with additional Plasticard. There will be two open bays for Machinary and the third bay at the end will be an enclosed workshop and office.
  21. new developments to the farm yard are coming together. I am struggling to get any cladding for the buildings given some of the current travel restrictions here. So I have added some green paint to the foam board as a temporary measure. The auger system is installed and painted linking the pit, grain dryer, grain stores and secondary silos.
