  1. Really wanted one of these for a while, but couldn't justify the big ticket price. Found one going cheaply, so made my first purchase of 2021. Now at least I have something to go with my Bailey High Lift Trailer.
  2. Final few steps to go. Getting the mud guards to fit was a bit of a mission.
  3. I decided on the lower side height as the most representative of the actual trailer. I then built up the side walls of the trailer body, before gluing them into the final form.
  4. I thought I would start a topic to share the building process for this grain chaser. The chassis is from a Ros Samson Slurry trailer. The wheels are a little larger than the standards for the Richard Western GRS25, however they are similar to the wheels on some of the promotional video versions of the GRS25. Firstly I had to resize the chassis to fit the dimensions of the chaser bin. Then I built up a template of chaser body to test two different side heights.
  5. Made a start on my Richard Western GRS25 Chaser Bin. Base trailer is a Ros Samson Slurry Tanker, I had to cut it about a bit to get it down to the right chassis length. Also need some repairs to the rear axel steering as this was a factor reject version.
  6. That is a big header, I doubt they would be able to get a long enough auger to run CTF with that. Richard Western created an alternative to longer augers, adding an extention to the chaser.
  7. Little bit more progress on the JCB forward control. On Pause now as I need to work out how to make the sprayer booms. So I started work on the Larrington Guardian Box loader again.
  8. Little bit more progress made on the JCB Forward Control.
  9. Spooky or the Google algorithm is just reading your farmtoysform activities, ha
  10. I got one of those last year, if I remember right there were some restrictions on spend amounts
  11. Another couple of projects on the work bench. I started the JCB Forward Control a while ago, just got the motivation to work on it again. The Case 4240 has been on my list to do for a while, as it was the first tractor I drove when I was a boy. I was just waiting to get a Replicagri Case cheap enough.
  12. Thanks for the info, that's really interesting. Defra and the other agencies I looked at don't seem to report any area of maize being grown as a grain crop in the UK. Maybe to small an area for them to survey still.
  13. Was this in the UK? I didn't think there was any Maize grown for grain in the UK due to insufficient Growing Degree Days. Any chance you remember what yields they were getting?
  14. The first project I have had chance to work on for a while, a 40ft potato baulker. Made from a container lorry trailer base, a fyson elevator and plastic card. Just the final details to go.
  15. I wonder if they are being forced down this route due to COVID. Maybe they had other plans for 2021 but due to travel restrictions, shutdowns etc. they had to be shelved. Therefore to fill the pipeline for 2021 they have resorted to Releasing rebranded Ertl models, such as the Case and Deere 9RX. In terms of models from Britains, the 8RX prestige was the most detailed and highest quality model I have seen Britains/Ertl release. If there are more in the pipeline like this I am sure the collectors will be happy.
  16. That is a great model. I really appreciate as well all the detailed photos of the build.
  17. That is some amazing work, can't wait to see what it looks like when it is finished.
  18. Made the first part of the transfer of the Soucy Tracks to my Wiking Deere. The rear tracks were easily switched, however the front tracks require a lot more work.
  19. Great progress so far, looks like it will be an awesome model when finished.
  20. It has finally got cool enough here to spend time at the work bench in the garage. My latest project is a Larrington Guardian Box Loader.
  21. That looks amazing, can't wait to see the finished chaser.
  22. This looks great, really impressive build. I seem to recognise the wheels, what are they from?
  23. Another amazing addition. It is so difficult to tell if this is real or a scale model.
