  1. ah ok, maybe less than 5% inflation hedge. My thesis backfired with the wife. As she showed me that her Handbags are compounding at 6.6% over the same period. Doh.
  2. Nice models, also an interesting exercise in showing the inflation of model tractors. Correct me if I am wrong but I believe the NH 8560 came out in about 1998/1999. Therefore given the NH T6 180 is the newer version, model tractor prices have been compounding at about 5% per year, far higher than underlying UK inflation (until recently) that only compounded at 2,47%. So if any wife/spouse/partner gives you trouble with model tractor buying in 2023, you can show that model tractors are nearly as good an inflation hedge as Gold. Happy New Year
  3. Found this book in China, basically a model tractor collector has photographed his collection and turned it into a book. Looks pretty nice. This is the translation of the blurb inside the cover: About the Author: Wang Jiahua, born in October 1981, Qingdao, Shandong People, Scorpio, currently living in Shanghai. Graduated from Zhejiang University majoring in information engineering, and then studied in the IMBA program of Hong Kong University and Fudan University to earn an MBA degree. Hobby collection, especially in the collection of agricultural machinery models The field has been devoted to research for nearly 10 years, has collected nearly a thousand agricultural machinery models, and has taken nearly 100,000 model pictures.
  4. Picked up a few bargains before Chritmas. Got them each for between 15-30 as they are unboxed or slightly damaged. (I switched the wheels on the Schuco Deere to Ertl Precision 8400 wheels) Also picked up a 1/32 model of the New Defender.
  5. Pleasure, you can also be assured that this 390 has more airmiles than any other. Made China, bought in Netherlands, lived in Hong Kong, flew to UK before being shipped to Ireland. You had a little fortune as well, the 390 fitted in my carry on bag. Unfortunately the UH Perard Chaser was in my checked bag, which the airline lost. doh.
  6. Amazing builds, you have gift. It’s pretty incredible how you can create such detailed master pieces in such short periods of time.
  7. Fresh combine arrived on the family farm in the UK while I was visiting. One of the only Fendt combines in the UK, and likely the only non~ideal agco combined with tracks.
  8. I got this a while ago but I didn't like the wheels. After trying every alternate set of wheels I have, I settled on keeping the rears and switching the front wheels to a spare pair of Marge wheels. Other than the wheels the model is pretty impressive.
  9. Just seen these photos for the Ertl Deere X9. Looks pretty good.
  10. Thanks for sharing all the photos. It's great to see the shows getting back to normal. I am hoping the October Show will be on as I will likely be in the UK in early Oct. Maybe I will bring a small diorama across from Hong Kong.
  11. I like that Claas alot, great work. The farm is really coming along nicely.
  12. Thanks, that is a great model. Hopefully it's not another 17 years to your next creation.
  13. One option I have been looking at for small wheels are from Lego. I have been looking at getting something like this for a project I am working on.
  14. That's looking really good. I am watching your developments closely as I have a Jones Engeneering Triple Bed Onion Topper on my build list and was unsure how to build it. Seems like 3d printing is the way to go.
  15. thanks, I think the booms would have been a lot easier in CAD and printed, I manged to stick my fingers to them multiple times, ha. Having seen some of your progress into the world of 3d printing recently I am strongly considering buying one (negotiating with wife, ha)
  16. Thanks, I am really pleased with the way booms have turned out. I procrastinated on making them for about a year.
  17. excellent news, your Tim Sugarbeet harvesters were a great inspiration for me back in the day.
  18. looks very good, is the front inter row tool printed as well.
  19. I suppose the question is how much value is there in having a large customer base in a niche industry like farm models.
  20. Thanks, seems pretty off steep. Maybe why people are trying to sell more through Facebook.
