  1. We picked this large scale plastic deutz model (made by cursor) recently at a toy fair. I was wondering if anyone had any infomation on this, i.e. dates it was produced, othe models in the range etc.. Many thanks Andy
  2. There are still plenty of fields grown in south lincs. One of the contractors in the area has two brand new machines, unfortunatly Ive been unable to get back to catch them in action.
  3. What you casting the trailers from? Ive been doing some work on a complete carbon fibre trailer chassis. Its the way forward by all accounts
  4. Should be an interesting read. I think niels will have plenty of his gold models featured.
  5. I asked my Dad to take some (if he remembered the camera), and am heading back home this weekend, so will see if he has something.
  6. There should be a few more in addition to this lineup from what I gather.
  7. Interesting stuff Simon, Does the heat mat work ok with the slate floor? Mum and Dad have a similar setup and the conduction can be fairly patchy in places.
  8. Been spending several £100 on chemicals today for our research lab. I'm now supervisor so responsible for it's upkeep. Not too sure why I volunteered for the role since it doesn't pay anymore!
  9. Thank you for everyone who has provided feedback on this matter. My plans are as follows.. I intend to keep the workbench / collection topic as generic as possible open to anyone to post what they are working on. This on the condition that those posting stuff in there that they eventually intend / hope to sell, use the appropriate parts of the forum to present their work. A new board in the custom model part of the forum will be set up for sellers purely posting up work to sell, or projects that will be available at shows etc.. That way, everyone can continue to enjoy the work and we then all know if an item is for sale, or not for sale if its not in this new board. Such sellers can then link these items into the classifieds or to their own websites for anyone interested in purchasing. However details for anyone interested in these items should be made clear by the topic starter to avoid un-neccessary presales rumble jumble. That said, all other customisation content can be posted as normal outside of this new topic, and within these, there should be no reference to buying or selling of the items posted. Members asking buyer related questions will be promptly warned against this, likewise, if an item is seen to refer to being sold, it will be moved to the sellers area. There have also been several references to banners, donations etc.. FTF is a free forum, we dont force you to support us and we never will, but I won't let it get taken for granted. Donations or banners help the forum without a question and go towards maintaining the several million hits we get each month now. If you disagree with this fact, you are probably not the type of member FTF wants on here. To finish, this will be an initial trial solution, and feedback is most welcome. I expect plenty coperation from everyone involved to which I hope a success will result. Many thanks Andy The topic will be locked in due course in preparation for the new things to be introduced,
  10. Ive had some good emails, PM's and some excellent replies in this topic. Enough to take forward and result in a good enough solution. This topic is getting locked and deleted in about an hour or so, then we move on. If people then still have a problem. You know how to get in touch with me.
  11. Not sure where your coming from really. Gav is in the same boat as everyone else here, as are you, as am I \
  12. Well it looked good out the oven and on the plate. Tasted quite nice actually but dont think I'll be trying the ol tuna mayo sandwiches just yet!
  13. Just put a "Tuna" pasta bake in the oven! It may sound trivial but Ive had a phobia for tuna since I was little, but decided to take the plunge!
  14. I totally agree with the point made there. I'm basically saying I have no problem in these kinds of topic as I too enjoy reading up on the updates etc.. but once the item is complete, just stick it in the classifieds and let people know its there, or let people know how to get on to a website you may have where the transaction or sale can then occur. This leaves the initial topic one that members can read through and appreciate the buiding of the item rather then read the continued banter of people trying to buy / sell within the topic.
  15. Blake, The classifieds system is pretty much ebay, but without the fees. I have no issue in starting a new board for everyone to post links to these items once they are on there.
  16. Hi Iain, thanks for your comments there. It is a priority for all involved to sort it out asap! The donation button has been changed to a new version. There has actually always been one there, but not visible by all accounts.
  17. As the title suggests on this topic. For those involved, it is as much for you to help us in finding the best solution. I dont think I have ever contemplated stopping conversions being posted. I want to grow and expand these boards as much as possible. Ive even started considering having a go myself My only concern, as has been brought to my attention by several people of late is some people perhaps forgetting that it's as much about the models, as it is about getting people to buy them off you. We have been working on this for a few weeks now and trying to put features in place to help as much as possible. I remember a similar debate some time ago regarding selling platforms on FTF. The result was us installing a classified ad system for everyone. This topic isn't too far from this very same debate, but I would appreciate that rather than rants or diggs at myself and my team, those of you involved in this part of the forum, that you help us to work out the best solution for it.
  18. I'm not too sure that previous posts really fit in with what I was going on about, but anyway! A solution for person A may not be agreed with by person B, so to find a perfect solution is not necessary straight forward. That said, we are working to find something which most members will be happy with.
  19. I think my principle point on all of this is "Reasonable Control" of selling / sales. If I allowed everyone and anyone to sell on here with no control, it would quickly become a jumble sale, with it going on all over the forum. Many conversion topics would be transformed into haggling yards which in my opinion is not what FTF's about. It's about appreciating people's time and effort and enjoying reading how the model's are made. Let me get one thing straight, I have no problem with people posting any work they have done. I want to encourage as many members as possible to get their tools out and have a go. I want those who are now renowned in the hobby to continue churning out new and innovative pieces of work, because it's fascinating to read and look at. Those who do make models to sell...again no problem with posting your work up, but if we can be as clear as possible about it. i.e. Here is my latest piece of work. Will be available for Spalding. Priced £45. I will make them to members own spec..Check out my website for more info... or PM me for more details. Similarly, I am taking orders for this item, see the link to the forum classifieds where you can purchase it direct. Opinions and feedback welcome If this is followed to extent, everyone knows what's going, we all know the item is for sale, and the price, we know where to get more info and if we want to buy it now, we know how to. I think my point is, it gets rid of topics simply containing "how much is it" , "is it for sale", "Can I have one", "Can I pm you for more details" etc... In my opinion, thats not what makes a conversion topic on here. I'm sure the customiser would also appreciate pure feedback on the item rather than churning through such questions. So the bottom line. I am not stopping people posting their work up. I am not stopping those who sell models from posting their work up. We all want to encourage this as it's hugely popular on FTF. All I ask is honesty from those who are posting stuff for sale, and if you don't have a website, why not use our classifieds? I am happy to help anyone in getting used to such a system. I even have the capabilities to help you build your own site if you dont have one. It only takes a PM to me. If anyone does have feedback on the matter, I would be more than happy to hear your concern, mail me or phone me Regards Andy
  20. We will be heading down in the morning now guys. Have a last minute complication with "having" to attend somones 21st this evening
  21. Ive got all the bits an bobs for you Sean ready. Going to pick the cakes up later
  22. I think your thoughts are echoed by a few members on here, and releases this year do appear to be slower. I do know however that there will be plenty of new and interesting items coming in 2009 so hopefully this will go some way to enhancing your opinions of the Britains brand.
  23. I think Dad and I are now at Crossways, so who's getting them in?
