  1. The panel beaters favourite Reg! Have you ever seen a WX registered car that hadn't been crashed? They used to be Deutz dealers too. This farmer bought a Fiat 780 from them in the 70s (got fed up waiting for a new Ford 6600 to turn up), a Deutz 6.05 and a Deutz 6.30. The Lexion replaced a Deutz-Fahr combine. The TM is on KK plates, those two Valtras (8050 and 6800), and one other (6650), are on WD plates. The other three Valtras (8400, 8550 and 8950) are on CW plates. Still blue skies down here, but the forecast isn't great.
  2. Went back today and got some pics of the 8050 and 20ft Red Rock. Got to drive it too!
  3. I am almost finished building a model of the Lee - managed to get some final detail ideas from this one - and I know someone is planning a model of the Thorpe. Anyways, as you can see above, the Lexion was all set for roading to the next farm near the Massey dealers at Ballygunner.
  4. He has a Lexion 450 with 18ft head. Drawing was a TM125 with 14ft Lee and a Valtra 6800 with 18ft Thorpe and a Valtra 8050 with 20ft Red Rock. (Didn't get pic of the 8050)
  5. On my way home tonight I happened on Edwin Jennings harvesting barley at Woodstown.
  6. The Ferguson TE20, 35, 135 lineage as they brought affordable mechanisation to smaller farms. The Ford E27N, E1A Major, 6X 5000 and 6Y 5000. They were the definitive arable tractors of their respective eras. To my mind, the 6Y 5000 was the most important tractor of the century as it was synonymous with the "Green Revolution" in agriculture in the late 60s and early 70s.
  7. I see farmers who are still running 10 series getting rid of their 20 series.
  8. People who have to pay the repair bills don't underestimate the 20 series! I'm told there are major reliability probs with the engine, tranny and backend. The Fendt dealers' yards are full of second hand 20 series.
  9. The stubble cultivator is a Pottinger Synkro. PDC can do one for you if you want. .... and where is the really nice tractor?
  10. She's about 1:43. I've seen a few redone with new wheels (Scaledown?) and they could be made into a tidy 990/5/6 to go beside a Britains 5000 or Scaledown 1:32 models. The cab, which was a lot larger than other makes, looks okay at 1:32, but isn't a 1:32 representation of the real thing. I have lots of happy memories of harvest time with a 1210. ;D ;D
  11. Tidy grain trailer there TM. One like that is next on my to-do list.
  12. www.cethena.com Belgian farm models collectors club. Used to do resin kits of John Qs, but I think John Q took a dim view of it and they had to stop.
  13. Has anyone put those wheels on the Britains Ford 5000? I think they'd look quite tidy!
  14. You know that Massey 1200 he has ................ Well it has nothing to do with that! (Sorry Udi!)
  15. F-P's next purchase! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Looking good FP! I was a bit worried about the shed, given the way you were treating it the last time I saw you and it together

I've put a few hours on a Manitou in the last few days. Most enjoyable! Not sure what was the point of posting the other red things above, but the yellow things were v cool!
  18. Jethro Tull springs to mind ............
  19. From memory, there's a couple of people who advertise in Rory's Wonder Mag who could help you with that, not to mention the guys who do the 1:16 version.
