  1. If you want to know what weather we'll be having next week, look at [url=http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/]the weather underground website. Whatever happens in the tropics this week will impact on us next week - either directly (the tail end of a tropical storm) or indirectly (by allowing weather fronts to come down from the North, or in from the East). Watch it for a couple of weeks and you'll learn to be more accurate than ITN. I'm currently guessing that Gordon will bring dry but cold weather next week, and Helene will bring wet weather the following week.
  2. Surely you mean 7.50x16. Those 6.00x16s always looked puny to me. Smarty pants? Moi? (wait til he finds out what we're planning to do to him at Spalding! Muhahaha! ) Anyone like to buy a set of metric Alfa Cloverleaf alloys? They even have a new set of the proper Michelin tyres.
  3. Reminds me of my favourite ever GB registration. OBO 110 X Was on a MkIV or MkV Cortina.
  4. Any truth in a rumour that F-P has booked a day off work for Tuesday!
  5. Nah, ...... the giveaway is how Britains made Fordson, Ford, Massey, Fiat, Deutz, Landini, Lamborghini, Same, Mercedes, Volvo-BM, Hesston, Valmet, Renault, Fendt and County tractors ....... But it wasn't until they made 1:32 John Gaylord Q's that they had to bring out a 1:32 service van. I rest my case, M'Lud!
  6. It's amazing the detail you can get in 1/87. I love the Leyland truck and the Dutra Tractors.
  7. That Valtra with the loader is my favourite UH model! ..... and the silage pit looks cool too
  8. I'd imagine a 6 pot 1135 would be easier than the V8 1155.
  9. I'm just glad I haven't packed away all the models I used for the silage comp. I wish I had a Clayson M103 though! :'( I might even do a John Q entry for one of the sections! Won't that be fun!
  10. I must admit, the ploughing lamp has me thrown! (and Marky, there is an old Irish seanfhocal: "If in doubt, assume Marky is wrong!" It's guaranteed to work every time! )
  11. Cracking pics. The 165 looks well on the fatter tyres.
  12. How come we see these 40 year old Fords working hard for a living, but we never see 40 year olds from other brands? Strange one that! Just goes to show how correct County, Roadless, MuirHill, Northrop, Doe and EVA were in their choice of skid unit!
  13. Wrong! (as usual!) They come from Dave Purdue.

    Ability

It is a function of gearing and traction. If you have a low enough gear you can pull anything, provided you can get traction. Zetor Crystals were always amazing when it came to pulling trailers out of mucky spots. I've never seen any other 2wd that could put the power down as well as a Crystal.
  15. Britains TM165 with a modded nose and spray job should do it?
  16. Excellent! (says he who can't comprehend any words bigger than marmalade) I got a dose of them from F-P a couple of weeks ago.
  17. Those two tractors would make great donors for the two CS150s I plan on building. I'll give you(r mother) ten yoyos for the pair!
  18. 6000 = Series (5000, 6000, 7000, 8000, 9000) 63, 64, 65, 66, 68, 69 = Relative Sizes (JQ also use the designation "S" to denote additional variants, such as 6420S, 6920S) 00, 10, 20, 30 = Revision (00 = okay, 10 = good, 20 = rubbish, buy a NH, 30 = buy another NH)
  19. Ahhhhhhhhhh! So thats what you have to do them to make them work better! Still wouldn't out pull an E27N though
  20. This thread must surely get the Carlsberg Award! Possibly the best thread ever on FTF! (although I'm really looking forward to seeing what Civilpek is going to do to his John Q before he leaves)
  21. The competitions prolly deserve a section and subsections, and subsections of subsections. We'll need to distinguish between the 2006 silage competition and the 2007 silage competition, for instance. When are we going to do the 2006 cereal harvest competition? We'll soon be looking at the 2006 autumn tillage competition (F-P should be a contender there) and the 2006 rootcrop harvest competition (which Red should win hands down).
