    JCB 3C's

Trust me! You will be much happier with a 50B!
  2. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay up there at the top of the "Tractors I'd love to drive" list! (with the County 1884, County 1184-40, Xerion 3300, Claas Challenger, Massey 1200 and Fendt 818 - actually, the 818 is organised, I just need to find the time)
  3. Is anybody else planning on entering the 70s category in the competition? I'll be taking my pics over the weekend. Might even do my naughties entry at the same time (My TGs have arrived - whoopeedoo!)
  4. Will you be bringing a case of those to Ireland F-P?
  5. Have I stayed up 'til now to see that? What a gammy model!

Get a Massey 50 or 50B (pref 50B). Torque is pref to manual. They are lighter and more manouevreable than the older JCBs.
  7. Why did everybody think "Ah, what has Mrs P been up to now!" when they saw the thread title? On a more serious note, look at the wheels on it.
  8. The top pic reminds me of one of Hanly's 716s beginning to jacknife as it turned in a gravel gateway next to Couse Bridge Roundabout a couple of weeks ago with an empty RedRock on the back. Luckily the driver had the presence of mind to light her and drive through of it, but he was going into a narrow enough gateway - anything could have happened. Proper Job with the convo! Looks just like the real thing.
  9. night watch man night watchman nightwatchman <<<<<< look what's happened this one!
  10. You'll be missing it anyway - you've been assigned the job of nightwatchman in the model tent at the Fingal show! (while the rest of us are down the Pub teaching FP and any other foreign visitors how to drink properly).
  11. Sheesh! FP must have gotten more trolleyed at his 50th birthday party than even I expected! :o (or maybe the "big red beauties" he was referring to were something other than the red and grey tractors (or scrap metal, as they are known around here) that Marky thinks he was referring to. 8)
  12. Judging by the pattern of the nearest front tyre, I reckon it might have been originally supplied on it.
  13. I have a call in to someone in Fingal. I'll report as soon as I hear something. I'd imagine we'll be trying to break 5000, and it should be no bother either! Sean; I have three tractors lined up to go. You are more than welcome to come over and drive one - the MF168 maybe?
  14. Remind me to get a picture of a 7635. I have a meeting next week, and I'll pass a farm with one on the way. It was topping paddocks when I passed last week.
  15. I haven't seen that "handbrake" technique for a very long time! Used to be a favourite of mine ;D How long before someone (Sean?) butchers a Siku 5455 (rear wheels), JQ4020 (front wheels), Tim 4260(chassis) and Ros 3070/ERTL 3050 (bonnet & cab) to make a replica of that?
  16. didn't he have some nice farm buildings once upon a time?
  17. I'm still gathering equipment for my displays, and I have a very busy work schedule at present. I am definitely going to be pushing up against the closing date for my entries. :(
  18. If you are ploughing on-land, you'd be better off with the original fat tyres. BTW, what are those wheels from? I'd have said ZTX too.
  19. 4610 Engine!!!!!! :o :o MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. The Kingdom hasn't been "British Countryside" for a very long time!
  21. Many years ago I remember a Contractor who bought a TW30 to replace a (fuel pump tweaked, 120hp) Deutz DX85 under his JF harvester. (The Deutz then replaced a Zetor Crystal on the mower, and the Zetor was traded for a dp 6600 for trailer duty) 188hp through a JF gearbox = twisted shafts. He replaced the JF with a trailed Mengele harvester (Pottinger Mex clone) which had all belt drives. Talk about No Mercy! Been a fan of [url=http://www.poettinger.at/landtechnik/maishaecksler_modelle.asp?lang=EN&produkt=430]the Pottinger approach ever since. (I must dig out pics of the Steyr 8320/MexV combo at some stage. The only flaw was the amount of wear on the chute)
