  1. Does using the word "Ergonomic" and "Leyland" in the same post entitle one to a Numpty?
  2. I thought you might say that! I feel a DX110 : JD4020 hybrid with DX 4.70 decals coming on!
  3. I love pics of working machinery! V nice kentman. (ps: if anyone has a broken Grimme harvester, or one they've converted to a trailed machine, I'm looking for two wheels off one for a planned mod, thx)
  4. Love the pics! Ever think of buying some rear wheel weights for the IH? Meanwhile, what are the tyre sizes on the 4.70, and does it have a 4 or 5 cylinder engine? S:
  5. I thought there was a rule against posting any new Galloping Goat pictures? If there isn't, there should be!
  6. I have the older DT version, and it is the dogs. It clips on to the JCB quick attach frame. Very nice!
  7. Claas Combines were marketed by Ford in the Colonies. Originally they were branded as Ford combines (Senator/Dominator). If you look closely behind the cab it says "Marketed thru Ford Dealers". Maybe Bob Turk can provide more info as they were quite popular in his part of the World.
  8. For 4wd you can buy the JOAL front axles (mudguards or no mudguards) from lots of places. www.farmmodels.co.uk springs to mind For front axles your best bet is the Britains JD4020, particularly if you want a working axle and very realistic wheels. Hope this helps S:
  9. It's not my layout - unfortunately! I met these guys on Saturday and they had the pics on their camera so I burned the pics onto a CD. They live about 10 minutes from Michael of Farmmodels.Net fame. It's a small world! I haven't seen the display yet, but it is 8 x 4 in size. They have plans for another 8x4 to go beside it. Here's a couple more of the 5 span haybarn.
  10. Here's a couple of pics of a layout built by the Moynan Bros who live about 20 minutes from me. More pics in the near future.

Met an old friend recently. He runs Valtra and Ford/NH. He had two Deutz in the 90s, a 6.30 and a 6.05, and he got rid of them for a Valtra 8400 and TM 125 because they overheated, had crap brakes, and wouldn't pull up a hill. Donoghue's would love to sell him a Fendt!

Case? JXU is a Fiat MXU is a Ford MXM is a Ford CVX is a Steyr STX is a Steiger ... and as for IH!!!! They make trucks. Around here the 6*20 JDs are being dumped as fast as can be. Nothing but trouble in terms of engine, tranny and back end by all accounts. Fendt are the big winners as JD owners view anything else as trading down. New Fendt dealers have opened close to a number of JD dealers recently. I asked a Steyr head why somebody wasn't importing Steyrs to take some of the snob market from Fendt, and he told me that CNH are currently trying to find a buyer for the St Valentin Plant. Will Case exit Europe? Will SDF or ARGO buy Steyr to get a quality brand? Will Claas buy Steyr to compensate for the shortcomings of the Renaults? Will Ford buy Steyr and get back into the tractor business? ... who knows, who can tell, is this heaven, is this hell, anyone for the last few choc-ices?
  13. Have a good one Bill! Looking forward to seeing pics of your desk again!
  14. You haven't seen their MF6290 then! There's a pic of it on their home page.
  15. That is one superb model! Well done Ian & Paul. Looking forward to the next one already!
  16. Not yet, but we live in hope! Lots of people on here have been writing to Santa asking him to bring you a new Job Description for Christmas. Responsibility for Europe and the introduction of a new 1:32 Construction line are the main changes. Keep up the good work Bill!

    Vintage Fergy

I guarantee it'll start on the button!
  18. The only model I've had in my hand is the NH SP FH (courtesy of smallclaas) and it is superb. I have one on order and should have it in the next 10 days. The only fault I would have is that the header is too wide. You'd need over 1000hp to pick up and chop that width of Irish grass. Of the other models: The new JD Track machine looks to be as good as the Precision 9420T in the pics I've seen. The Landrover looks fabulous. I haven't seen the mower up close, but the pics look good - (we won't mention the Kuhn! )
  19. But you dream of a TSA115. Don't you?
  20. I drive a 4355 hauling silage and the range change is ridiculous. I try and race up alongside the harvester in H3 when the other trailer pulls out so he doesn't have to ride the clutch at full revs, but it is hit or miss whether I can get her into M4 before the harvester passes over the cab. I much prefer the Ford 6640, but it is usually under the mower.
  21. I spent two hours in the buddy seat of a Jag 860 the other day. It was chopping the last field of Maize round these parts.
