  1. Great catch up with Mr Smith, and another enjoyable day in the company of Smithy and Julie. Last day of harvest, (and a very impressive looking/clean field of wheat l may add!)
  2. Cheers for the update Smithy, same here, some poor stuff - especially the spring crops, which went in very late anyway (as it was so wet early on, other crops such as potatoes hadn't all been lifted until April/May) then from the spring cereal going in the ground - upto last week, virtually no rain at all. Some of spring stuff it is so poor, a few farms are looking at whole cropping, as it's not worth combining. The joys of farming........
  3. Some seriously tricky and intricate work on that Sean, these things can take time - but it will be some model when it's finished. Looking forward to seeing it completed.
  4. Nice updates, very much like the weigh bridge and office set up.
  5. That is some find, would have been an impressive fleet in the 70's. Suprising what's lurking about in old barns and hedgerows. Sadly looks like those combines haven't seen any action for a few years.
  6. Challenge on! I am going for five - a Britains DB1412 make over, and three scratch built tippers (a 10 ton weeks, and two 12 ton Pettit trailers), plus a scratch built 6.6 metre bomford powertrak cultivator. Must admit its good to see that other people have the same issues, i.e lots of part built models, thought it was just me!!
  7. I was hoping to use wood strip, but once I calculated the width of the boards on the 12 ton pettit, it worked out each strip on the model would be approx 3mm wide, (together with the fact that the trailer has quite a tapered body/floor from front to back) to do this with actual wood strips was beyond my capabilities....
  8. Cheers Alistair, It's pretty straightforward, just keep scoring the plastic with a sharp tool, until you have the required depth (l score a couple of of times, then wipe over with a cloth - applying plenty of downward pressure, to clean the groove, and repeat the process until happy with the depth of the groove). The painting is a little hit and miss, but seems to improve with practice however it's certainly not an exact science!, sometimes less is more .
  9. Pettit trailer boarding. Messing about with plasticard and humbrol enamel paint to try and replicate the wooden flooring/side boards for 2 petit tippers l am building.
  10. Sounds very good, especially given how dry it's been. How far off before you are into the wheat?
  11. Good service indeed Smithy! How's harvest going, have you finished the winter barley? How's that lovely TX behaving?
  12. Nice heap developing there Mr Smith. Looks like the snow plow is working well Smithy
  13. Pretty impressive Smithy! (Hope you didn't make Julie stack for you!) good going all them bales given it was 5 different fields - and also impressive -over 1300 bales with no broken twine. Think the NH conventional balers take a bit of beating. (or is it the operator )
  14. Excellent work, and very informative. Attention to detail out standing. Looking forward to seeing it progress James.
  15. Brilliant collection there Chris, loving all those claas models!
  16. Some fantastic additions to the collection David. Must say, looking through the previous posts again, you have really cracked it with those studio photos, brilliant!!
  17. Lovely model Martin, and great additions with the wheels/tyres. Another excellent model for your Ford fleet.
  18. My favourite part of any build - ready to put the main decals on, l think it's what brings a model to life, so to speak. Also means it's nearly finished
