BC
Well yesterday it was a lovely Spring day in Aberdeen and the shire and was 9 degrees C when I left work for home at 3pm yesterday. I had a look into the shed and even the temperature in it was around 9 degrees C or 58 o F in old money. The doors only got one coat of butinox before winter kicked in and now things are drying up I'm seeing the linings expanding a little The one bit that won't expand is the gap that now exists between both doors Not to worry all the other shed doors are the same so it will just be a trip to B&Q for 30mm wide x 2mm aluminium bar to close over the gap
ratholderen
vvery fine shed you and your dad have done, have it been expensive ididn´t know the prices at materials over there. Hope i can see it once. guess 801-
BC
Thanks Erik, You are not too far off. I think it is around £ 913 for materials to date.
FordTractorCrazy
looking to be finished within a few weeks now. the end in sight, you must be glad about that, and also proud of your new shed, being made old-fashioned like, but that doesnt mean less quality in this case, but great quality, That shed will last 50 years with ease. So when will you start with making a shed for your neighboor's porsche?
BC
Thank's Will I hope the shed sees my time out ;) Well Rob has not actually asked us yet.....mind you it has a double garage all to itself. His wife's BMW X5 and his daily runabout a diesel VW Golf GTI sit in the drive or on the road outside their house. When the two are on the road it is a right pain for me when reversing trailers into my drive. Mind you if they are parked their I jut go headfirst up their drive and reverse directly back into mine ;)
BC
Saturday 13th March 2010 Sanded the MDF boards today or should I say over the screw heads prior to painting and oh my good a dusty job,......so it was an early afternoon bath for me today ;) Seems like if I was sanding dad had to have a go too ;D ...he was sanding linings off my old garage fascias to make door stops Now scribing in the door stops

BC
Well no work was done on the shed since it was an away weekend at the G&M event at Perth with a Sunday fornoon trip to Ikea in Edinburgh for display units but came back with an empty trailer since the units I first wanted were not really strong enough and suitable for Border Fine Arts. There was an alternative but despite saying 4 in stock there was nothing in stock. Never mind the real purpose of the weekend was the Perth event. They did have what they called a shed on show at front but oh my god neither dad or myself was impressed. I don't know what the cost was but I must phone the number just for curiosity and a laugh ;) Look at the hinges hardly heavy duty but then again neither is the door And look at the slim line so called braces ( they have got them on the right way)
BC
Dad walking out in disgust The window would break in transit since well not a window just glass held in with a piece of wood at the sides :of The distance between the framing was far too wide must have been nearing on 30 inches or maybe more Well I'm no joiner or electrician but I could do better at wiring than these cowboys could do ;D
FordTractorCrazy
that's indeed a laughing matter.. first heavy wind, or throwing the door shut and the thing is a goner.. But you cant expect an Ikea thingy to be sturdy and of the best quality..
BC
I'm need to find out the price Wil...the maker wasn't afraid to put his phone number up on top of the door near the roof...I would have been totally Mind you if you can churn out products like that get paid for it by some gullible "Joe Public" well you are quids in ;D The tradesman sorry hammer and nail person in my mind should get "hung drawn and quartered".....I mean it should may be made a criminal offence to sell such products like that which will only last 5 to 10 years before you get a leaking roof or as you say Wil.....may get blown away before that ;)
BC
when in Costco yesterday I saw they are now into Shed to. For £ 458.34 you could have this plastic 8 foot by 6 foot shed. No use as a tractor shed for me since the width is 8 foot and the length is 6 feet. I suppose it would do for the Ransome MG2 crawler ??? And what can you hold in a Costco shed....well at least four other flat pack one ;D Now how many do I need to buy ???
BC
Well yesterday I decided it was time to uproot the three 3 foot x 2 foot that were a pathway in front of the shed where currently my American Cub resides. The reason is two fold really The slabs rise with the frost making opening doors awfully difficult Need to get rid of some the pink Corrinne chuckies that are currently under the temporary shed since well that will be concreted between the two rows of the slab's to form a flat level base for the new shed. First step rake back existing chuckies in order to lay down that brown barrier fabric where the slabs were lifted from to save any weeds
BC
The source of the chuckies The finished article Three slabs ( two good ) one broken corner on trailer for cleaning and powerwashing. The two good ones will be used to replace two other slabs that have corner cracks,,,caused by moving that wretched MG2 crawler without putting down ply wood hoarding sheets > Today I left dad to his own devices and he almost has the second door stop made and fitted. BC
Slabs power washed on trailer then moved with sack barrow until used at a later date. Jet washed side of patio too Working on door stop
BC
Dad wasn't happy with the other door stop since it had a shatter in it so he is going to make another. At least this should not take long since he will not have to fit only use the first one as a pattern and draw round about it...well that is the theory anyway ;) Now out with the power washer again Quite soap and rinse to the car Now this is a great tool for doing large flat slabbed or concreted areas
flash 600
nice job bill how much was the thing for the power washer looks like a handy tool
