Anyone on here collect them?

I ask, because its going to sound like I'm laying into them, so sorry for that, but we might as well discuss it....to me they seem ridiculosly expensive, they may be hand crafted (to what extent) but ?750 for something like this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Border-Fine-Art-Hay-Turning-TRACTOR_W0QQitemZ6240001407QQcategoryZ47409QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I just can't get my head around

Yes I collect them as they fit in with what my wife collects.  ?750 is a good price, I have seen this sell for ?1250.  The first two they produced (a Fordson N on Spuds and a Ferguson TE20) have fetched ?4000 when the market was at its peak and will still go for ?2000 +.

The range is fairly big, you get limited edition piece that is well produced and displays well.  I think the most they have ever made of one model is 2000.

Can post a list of all they have produced if anyone is interested.

Country Artists also have a tractor range, I only have a couple of them (a SAME and a John Deere).  Models are larger and production run is only about 500.

The ones featuring farm machinery are good but in my mind what they excell at are the livestock subjects. Some of the sheep ones are great.

Machinery-wise, I'd rather spend my cash on UH stuff but the livestock can't be bettered in my opinion.

I can see why, if you already had some livestock pieces, you'd stick with the same company for selected machinery pieces.

I must take my hat off to them they are very very lovely pieces,my brother has a few of the Texel Sheep ones and a couple of the Clydesdale ones I think as they tie in with the family showing hobby.I would never have them at the moment but maybe when I get a few more Gray's on the heid I'll think about them.(no kids to destroy them then unlike now!!)
