844john Posted January 7, 2021 Share Posted January 7, 2021 To be honest Jan, i think that there's a market value for such brochures, no doubt driven by the rarity of both the real thing and to perhaps a slightly lesser extent the brochures themselves. I've added a few Roadless and County over the years, mostly at a price, but people do seem to know what they are worth. I suppose its just keeping your eyes open for a bargain. As a tractor mad boy I used to write to manufacturers asking for leaflets and i still have a nice bundle that was sent out to me by County. But seeing plenty of examples at an acceptable price (for me) and then at the same time people charging double or triple for the same thing. I might go looking outside Ebay for these. I'll see if I have any double County brochures. I'll also ask another collector. Any particular models you're interested in? The only one I have in my collection so far is this one: Which covers a range of models, but no specs or anything. On the plus side it's 4 pages. I have managed to find these leaflets and arranged to get them and possibly a few others as well; -County 764 -Roadless Ploughmaster 78 -Roadless 98 S series -County 762H High Drive -Roadless 78 S Series Not really any particular ones I'm looking for, more the interest in general I guess. Looks interesting, reminds me of a Norwegian modified MF 178 callled "Super Per", named after Per Igland (also the guy behind the Igland company that makes winches). This one contained a 10/60 Bray brochure (admittedly not mint due to the hole punched side but a rare-ish brochure so couldnt really let it slip away, which just leaves a 470 brochure to find in English text to complete the 10/60, 4/65. 384 and 470 set but have discovered some foriegn text ones exist....which has just opened up another avenue to explore.......) as well as a 1965 price list and a A5 sized 4/25 sales at work leaflet 3 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Valley Axe Man Posted January 31, 2021 Share Posted January 31, 2021 (edited) Another handful delivered yesterday, thanks to the eagle-eyed ness of John (JMD) with a rarity or two amongst them, the two most intriguing ones are the Marshall 154 and the Dutch Leyland range, the first due to the fact that by the turn to Harvest gold on the leylands in 1980/81 the 154 was releaunched as the 302 to make it look more part the range with the more normal looking Leyland coffin bonnet, during the synchro drive of 78 a couple of these were protoyped as 184's in blue at Bathgate and also as the 235 in Turkey........so i'm unsure if this brochure is for a tractor that actually existed....and secondly the dutch range brichure features a silver stripe line up....76/77 era but yet shows a 462 and 472, these not released by Bathgate until the following year and the launch of the synchro gearbox.... the search is now on for 10 speed 4wd conversions.... the gravy begins to thicken Anyhows photos Harvest gold leyland and Marshall price lists Marshall 154 .....And the more normal for the era 302 Turkish re issue of the Leyland 154 10 speed 272 spec sheet that would go with the folder type brochures French-Canadian 342 brochure And the Dutch range brochure Thanks for keeping your eyes open John, Much appreciated Edited January 31, 2021 by Valley Axe Man 4 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
