Saw one of my all time favourite combines, a Claas Dominator 85 whilst out last night - it was quite a way back from the road, but i've seen it before and have photos which I will try and dig out and post.  There was another older Claas as well, possibly a Dominator 106, also spotted in the distance, but that was all I saw in 25 miles of cycling!  I need to choose a different route I think!

I used to work for Collins Phil. Its managed by K. Potter, there's another farm up Bampton, Oxon. The one near me is an MOD farm of 5000 acres with over 1000 beef cattle. Used to have a Mega 204 before the Lexion. Dont know who the baler man was though. The other Lexion, David White, he farms nr Swindon/Avebury and rents 2000acres near me. Set the tonnes/hour record in 2003 only to have it broken by a guy in Norfolk the following week I think. Just seen a CX with a TM and a 60series near Yeovil and a JD7?00 and 6620 near Shepton Mallet.

I think i know the baler man as sounds like a tractor that a mate ahs on hire at the moment and the bloke runs BB balers soon to be replaced by claas due to th whites moving. If im thinking of the right bloke for the baler he covers 12000 odd acres of straw a year

Yeah you got it Phil, I most certainly am running up the mobile phone bill mate yeah. Is this guy just a contractor or a straw merchant aswell? There are a fair few NH outfits round here mind but like you say, with Devizes Whites chucking the towel in and going soley over to Palfinger this may change.

Erm he's a a contractor that specialises in baling covers all kinds of baling hay silage and straw, he also hires out his tractors and drivers to local farms when needed just to keep them busy. Keep an out for him if you see a fendt 930 on a BB thats my mate whos the contractors nephew but he mainly drives a 7810 on the BB or last season a 8870A (if you saw it) he runs a range of machines including a tm165 etc and he's got a 190 on hire at the moment
