CCF
FARM JOURNAL #19 Today, we opened up our Christmas tree stand on the farm. Normally we set up the stand near the pond, but we decided to set it up on the field this year due to the new pig pens taking up the space by the pond. The first day was successful, and we surprisingly sold most of our trees. We will hopefully get some more trees from the local tree farm for our stand next week. De-attaching the rear grader blade from the loader, and attaching it to the crawler: Cleaning up the front entrance to the farm: Digging post holes for the stands: Filling in the dirt around the post: Stands all set up: Driving the loader out of the fields before cars show up: Hauling a load of trees purchased by customers to the checkout line: Dropping the trees off at the checkout line, and going back to help a few other customers haul their trees to the checkout line before closing time: It has only been one day, and we have sold nearly 50 trees to our customers. We take the proceeds each year, and split it between charity organizations, and tune ups for tractors with hydraulic pistons next spring. Hate to say it, but that's all for this week folks! CCF
FARM JOURNAL #20 Today we had a mild day, so we decided to finish decorating the farm for Christmas. We took a few of our loaders and other pieces of machinery, and used them as lifts for hanging up ornaments on several of our Balsam trees by the equipment shed. Several brave farm workers being lifted up in the loader buckets to hang some of the ornaments on the trees: Starting up the excavator: One brave worker going up the tree in the excavator bucket and attaching the star to the top of the tree: Turning on the lights: MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT Hate to say it, but that's all for this week folks! I will be taking a break from my Farm Journals for several weeks, I will start them again on January 7, 2007.
