Went to see the 7710 this evening as they've had a chance to look at it. Verdict not as bad as first thought. Clutch is in 6 pieces its disintegrated and input shaft badly worn. So.new shaft and clutch needed aswell as new seals in the Dual power going in. Hopefully will be done for yesterdays farming on 17th 18th august where all my tractors are booked in

Ford on the other hand is a different story. What had happened when i lost all drive is that the clutch exploded into 6 pieces which then in turn caused the dual power to explode which decided to go through the side of the gearbox! :(

Has had to have new dual power, most of the gearbox, input shaft, new clutch and flywheel and all of its pto and hydraulic gears replaced as they were badly worn. The mechanic that has worked on it said its the worst ever failure he's seen in his 30 years of working on fords.. Big bill incoming!! :(

Its a bit of a mess to say the least! They found more in the gearbox today, needs all new needle bearings as they've welded themselves together. The tractor has evidently done a lot of work, especially on the PTO. It'll be like triggers broom soon as its had a replacement engine too!!

She certainly is a bit of a mess Zac, on a positive note though once she's put back together she should be like new, I doubt you'll ever have to look inside her again. Much better than a lot of tractor restorations that have nice shiny paintwork but the important bits underneath haven't been touched......put them back to use and a lot wouldn't stand a hard days work;)

Russells Root drill aquired today to go behind the challenger.

Also been to see the Ford which is still poorly. Backend is all rebuilt and running well now moved onto brakes which have thrown more gremlins up. Whole new brake system required.. More money :( Its destined for a local road run next week for its maiden voyage fingers crossed it'll be finished. 70229448_1084099871789855_7034956358386450432_n.thumb.jpg.91a65ee1935eff1ccbba2a6e90fa308a.jpg

Never seen those sledges on a trailer in real... normally just dragged or chucked on normal trailer.

I think its just something put together for it, it looks like an old drill trailer. Pretty handy really it saves a lot of time having to move it onto another one. Didnt manage to use it this year as wasnt needed but it was well worth the £50 extra if it saves that bit of time

Definitely a good buy for £50

Bit of an update for this month. After 5 long months the 7710 has returned and is now fully fixed.

Took the 7710, 802 and Ed40 to a new show up at a local pub today and had a good time!

Also the 154 has now moved on to a new life up in Falkirk in Scotland so a fair distance away. Shame for it to go but needs must
