Kirely
Came across this FTF Ford 7000 set. What was the story behind this Limited Edition and how many models were included?
robbo
Some years ago a the Forum produced a number of models for the members and this was one of them, I can't remember how many were done, maybe Sean or Andy will remember. As well as this Ford there was also an MF1200 plus cultivator set. There were also a number of individual models produced in varying numbers, a Ford 6600, a Ford 5000 in the yellow Highway colours and also in Gun metal. Also IH 956XL transition version and IH 1056XL in 2WD. This was also done as a gun metal version as well. There was also a "precision" model made which was a DBP Massey Ferguson 390H Highway model. It later became uneconomical to produce forum models, there was an issue getting the licences from the manufacturers and then the model maklers insisted on a minimum run of 1000 models meaning that it wasn't really limited. Andy also produced some other show models notably for the Malvern show, chrome Ford 7600 and MF 35X as well as a muddy version of the MF 135. Kirely
Thank you for the information. I see they were mainly 'Britains' Models but the DBP was limited to 50 models.
justy 46
Dave Towse also done a few Ford 7000s using the early Britain's 6600s & 5000s.
Tractorman810
the dave twose ford 7000 was the very first one, for the life of me cant remember what next in the line , we also did some siku valtra t’s in gun metal and a very limited bronze colour, which i managed to get. the euro guys go nuts for them if they come up for sale , and one 1/16 uh ,a county 754 ,which i think was about 1500 in its run. as mike mentioned most companys want a lot higher runs of limited models, so it sadly prices forums like us out of it now

Kirely
Thanks for contributing to this thread, for someone who has only recently come to this Forum it is great to hear about and see pictures of these models. A MF1200 plus cultivator set was mentioned by Robbo, was this a UH model and would anyone have a picture?

Tractorman810
I am guessing the 1200 set may be the spalding model show set andy did when he first took over the running of it?? Was a dirty weathered version

Tractorman810
in terms of ftf ones i think from memory the county were the last ones as such andy did , if you include the spalding ones, then i think andy has had involvment with all of these, defiantly some of the later ones for sure ,hes also done a few for euro sale in the past ,for the zwolle show. couple of massey 86?? from memory, should know as i helped sell them, but age is getting the better of me ,something about the white one??
