MJB1
bought some UH rears from pdc at toytrac with the view to booting up the ertl ford 8670 as always thought ertl wheels are very poor, tm810 also picked out some fronts from what looks to be from a NH TSa finaly got round to doing it
MJB1
certainly changed it's appearance somewhat ! would have liked to of had them in closer but was restricted by the cab mountings under the mudguards would like some fronts to match ,but will have to wait for those , if i ever get round to changing them at all FORD 8670 next to a G240 still on the original wheels

Tractorman810
now that does look a lot better mate, far more chunky in appearance are you going to glaze the cab up to mate?
nashmach
I got that G240 fairly cheapish and I really hated it from day one don't know why O bought it but now its in James F's collection Really nice work there Marcus
sparrow legs
looks spot on (back is a bit wide thoe) could you widen the fronts a bit? 100% better than the ertle wheels
SPN
Just had a look at my G240 and I reckon good old Mr Dremel is your only man to solve the wide track issue. Nip off the two lugs under the mudguard and fashion a new clip for holding the cab in place. I've seen lots of G/70s fitted with Atles wheels, so they must have removed the lugs to make those fit properly. The TSA fronts look very well too. Tractorman810
does the bonnet and arches ect come of these models in ne peice or are they the usuall ertl one peice/half casting like the jd 3350 ones i have can't really tell from the pics
MJB1
the tractor is cast in two halves sean , mike i think i'm more likely to get wider fronts , i don't think i want to start cutting the cab mounts about stan
NewHolland2
Bit more impressive now mate......Looks great with the new boots...... :)

ihatepoundland
I had to cut down the axle stubs when I put Siku wheels on mine, makes it look so much better though! What were they thinking with the original fronts?

Tractorman810
it would sit a lot better mate, those rears look very good, just to far out from the chassis, hence the fronts look to small/narrow track wise
ihatepoundland
got any pics rob ? I just had a quick look at it again and I did it a bit differently to how i remembered - I cut the stubs off the wheels, not the axles. Just got to resize the pics, one moment. MJB1
looks are decieving sean .trackwise if you look at the two together in the pics , the old wheel center of the tyre is just inside the edge of the mudguard & the UH centers are just outside the edge of the mudguard . so there really is just mm's in it for wheel spaceings
ihatepoundland
This was one of my first attempts at changing a tractor...some of its a bit shoddy, it may be revisited after it decides if it is a Ford or a NH. Track is the same front and rear

ihatepoundland
Forgot to add - I tried glazing the cab and gave up, very curvy, might be able to do it now though. The rears appear to stick out a fair bit on the real thing, I think that is why i didn't shorten the axles in the end.
MJB1
that looks nothing short of brilliant rob , i'll send mine on soon
IH885XLMAN
nice those pics IHP and MJB1 just a thought If you butcherd the cab off one of those tractors do you think the cab frame would look good on a converted 7840 but put the britains cab top on top of the ertl one if you know what i mean
MJB1
not sure if the design is that close a match ?
ihatepoundland
I think I may have tried it when the glazing went wrong on this. If I remember correctly, the Britains roof is a bit too narrow and the frame wound never fit a britains floor pan.
