Good for you sweetie... I don't want to be encouraging voilence, but it was the only way I stopped being bullied at school (got detention for it I seem to remember - worth it though ;)) - can't see standing up to bullies would change much over the years as a useful way of putting a halt to it :-\

so you were the next karate kid mandy   :D :D :D:D no i cant stand bullies

In common with many others on here, things as we know don`t always work out how we `d like or had indeed planned....... my point.........Alison , my fiance  found a wee lump about 10 days ago.She went to her doc and she referred her to a specialist to get checked out....as she has private health insurance it`s a pretty speedy process and on Thursday there, they diagnosed breast cancer, not the  actual lump , but close by it .Thankfully they say its early caught, 8mm tumour and following an MRI scan next wed, she has surgery the following wed.

It`s a big shock and I feel like I`ve been hit by a train and can only imagine how she feels  :(.

It`s gonna be a tough time but we`re trying to remain positive.

Sorry to hear that and I'm sure that she will recover fully from it. The main thing is that they've caught it in the early stages, which from personal experiences with the disease is a big help. I hope everything goes ok for Alison and yourself

Oh John... what sad news mate...

As you have said yourself... stay positive.... I am sure things will work out good for Alison as they have caught it so early mate - please give her my love and best wishes.

Medical science is so wonderful now - I have every faith they will cure her completely - but like Gavin above, I have some personal experience on this one and it's a really horrendous thing to be going through for you both  :'(

I can bearly begin to imagine how you both feel right now  :'(

thank you everybody, all your kind thoughts are much appreciated.

So many of us are touched  by cancer today most of us will have to deal with a scenario such as this  at some point.I heard a quote once and it keeps coming to me...........it went something like  "don`t let the b***ards  get you down "........ She`s in bits  now today, reality has kicked in so it`s acceptance at the minute  and deal with it from there.

thanks again guys
