  1. I find it hard to believe of veg/ potatoe growers to have gear in a bad condition, we are blessed to have 2 of the biggest producers based up here, Ewan Benzie who produces carrots and potatoes for the uk supermarket chains and Maxwell farms who also produce veg for supermarkets. All there equipment is in excellent condition most of it less than 2 years old, all drivers are experienced. Last year the incident in the link below happened. It should be a timely reminder on what can happen, I spoke to a police officer at the weekend and he told me that overloaded trailers and trailers in a poor state and with no brakes are very very common and up here they are cracking down on them recently a farmer on a quad moving sheep down a road was charged with several traffic offences. A local farmer was also telling me that various agencies have been attending the local mart checking distances travelled, fuel being used and condition of trailers and tractors and have been fining / impounding equipment. http://www.scotsman.com/scotland/Farmer-faces-prison-after-.6352250.jp

At the back of the house there is another farm and they have there new holland in cutting grass they will be baling theres though.
  6. Just started here nothing major though. Saw a john deere with JF forager outside keith yesterday had 3 fields down. Several at the round bales as well. Mostly round bales up here anyway. Fields near me still to be cut if stays dry this week could see them down. Normally a contractor with a case forager picks it up.

  10. Not really had a chance to get on here for the past 2 weeks as have been extremely busy here at work. We have had our annual shutdown here which is 28 days without oil production. Has been lots of work to do from isolating all the equipment to flushing and nitrogen purging to make sure all the vessels and pipework is clear of oil and gas. Have also had lots of gas tsts to do as all the vessels are being internally cleaned and inspected. So a busy trip for us this time thank goodness I have 4 weeks off.
  11. Did they have any of the floats for the northlink ferries in there blake. http://www.stewart-trailers.co.uk/latest_news.shtml Some very sturdy trailers those stewarts, plenty up our way but then again a local trailer. 17. Well today here in Aberdeenshire we had sun this morning but about 8 degrees C now we have just had a heavy sleet shower :of What is happening with this weather fed up of the cold now and fighting off polar bears
  18. Nothing here what so ever. Many farmers are still on rolling the grass most not expecting to cut for at least 2 weeks sun has been out and we have had some thundery showers and so rain over night the grass is now starting to shoot up. Most livestock farmers are more concerned about getting the neeps in now for the livestock over the winter.
