  1. Hmm it is a bit shorter sorry about the huge image Engine looks different too looks good though ignoring that, nice finish and detail, is there not a model it would be more suited to be badged as?
  2. That 1884 * * I'm forgeting the 1184 now and going to get as many of them as pos!
  3. Do many tractor drivers buy a machine for the steer wheel highlights?
  4. Think the photo would have worked better had you been the other side of the road, looking over those weeds, sky doesn't help much, not sunny enough to be picturesque or dark enough to be dramatic, nor do the powerlines as they lead the eye from the machinery and into the forest...other problem is Big M is slightly out of focus....thats my opinion, but who knows what Andy and RC2 are after
  5. Compare it to a normal 115, the bonnet sticks out over the counterwieght because they put a 15gal tank in there
  6. mmm extended fuel tank 115 Yellow county = yuk
  7. 1:1, not really a sea defence as keeping out the sea would require more funding he 's one of those funny fish doctors aka marine biologists and wanted to see what materials used in coastal defence support life the best....chose a beach with a good 1/4 mile walk from the carpark...fun with 18kg blocks and 25kg bags of cements down a trecherous grassy hill in the wet..good laugh though, free drinks and bbq for all...only wish i'd known what the access was like, if i'd borrowed the landie could have driven onto the beach
  8. Shhhhhuuusshh....or FB will start the "what are you not eating on FTF" thread
  9. Building a fake sea wall on a private beach on the south coast of devon for a mates uni project....couldn't have picked a better day for it
  10. Suits the implement? i.e no point stepping down the speed if the implement needs it stepped up? When you say "transmit higher power" could you explain...how does speed relate to power ? A reduction in speed by gearing just increases the torque but the only power lost is through friction...so surely all engine power (minus friction loses) could in theory be transmitted at 1 rpm?
  11. yep, thats the question (once I'd correctly established how a pto actually works ) My only idea is that it is a divisable of the average optimum engine torque those testers found?
  12. Thanks Nigel, meant "got it" in relation to the second question I'm slightly confused as to why (and I hope I'm not asking something that has already been answered) why for example the figure of 540 was arrived? If I have understood so far, the rpm of the pto at the optimum engine rpm could have in theory have been geared for anything?
  13. That makes sense and was my first thought, but just making sure I've got the basics right here....the pto remains at (e.g.) 540 no matter what rpm the engine is doing?
  14. Simple questions I hope; Who decided and when was it decided that 540/1000 would be good RPM speeds? And why these speeds?
  15. After a drive, an apple stuck between the brake caliper and the inside of the alloy wheel...how did that get there and more importantly how did it stay there? (yes, it caused quite a stir)
  16. Something that looked like a 4wd ford conversion and a mb trac or ex nat grid unimog (from the colour) sat on top of a hill near some log piles
  17. So could she beat a fordson in a tug of war? Nah..only kidding, don't want to start that. Any idea on the HP? and how do you counter weight it?
