  1. Hi Paul, The arms move up and down as long as you allow the super glue to harden 12 hours perhaps. Obviously if your too hasty to refit things onto soft glue it wont end well😁 Looking forward to receiving my blue power, should be here tomorrow or weds. Got plans for that one.
  2. Yep, I took the link arms off put a blob of glue in the screw hole, let it harden, re drilled the hole and then put the arms back on. Also put glue on the two silver rams and let that harden before pushing the arms up. The glue acts as packing. They all work fine now. I'm getting a blue power version this week so be interesting to see if that fares any better. Its a fiddly job and of course we shouldn't have to do it, but it is what it is and it wasn't that difficult to do. For the most part they are a really nice model and much cheaper than a Wiking Fendt 728 or JD 6R.
  3. It would appear that both CASE & New Holland will sell more Puma 240s & T7.270s than the more powerful 260 & 7.300 models. Mostly because all models are 20hp more max power available now than the old models. For example the old Puma 240/ T7.270 were 220 rated hp, 240 max power, 270 boosted power. whereas the new 240/ 7.270 PLM models are 240 rated, 260 max power, 270 boosted. So more useable power & less boost than previous machines.
  4. I already have mine waiting Joe, bought it from Farmmodels NL, but not sure it will be good enough, I just want the numbers on the bonnet & not the plastic surround they are printed on.
  5. DOE's sold a new 7.260 from their Norfolk branch in standard blue yesterday. My local branch has about 7 new looking blue power models in it this morning.
  6. It's coming along. I wanted to paint the trusses dark green but I had run out of paint, then I noticed a barely used can of old Ford blue which has sat around for 5 years so used that instead. More timbers required then side panels can go on next.
  7. I guess they might sell a few of the 710 version which I assume is equal with the Quadtrac 715, even though it looks bigger than the CASE. The problem with this big increase in power is that the farmer will also have to increase the size of the implements that go behind them, and thats another big additional cost. Theres a quite few 9620/40RX around these parts now, mostly by default having pinched sales off the Quadtrac simply by being the right "colour", but i'm hearing that farmers are so impressed by their 8RX's that they are thinking of down sizing when their 9RX's come up for replacement.
  8. You should have waited for the UH version Deutz 8280 Joe, looks really nice with those black wheel weights on too. I'm hoping they do a metallic black version at some point.
  9. Schuco tractor rear links are about as effective as a chocolate fire guard.
  10. I got the NH bumper weight today, looks cool although I may adapt it into a more simple weight box at a later date.
  11. Had a good look at the new T7.300 today, after stiffening the front links I painted a MF weight block black and fitted that on. Also put the new 24 reg number plate on it for March registration😁 and a security triangle decal. also gave the bar axle another blob of yellow and painted the axle band black as UH had obviously forgotten! And as the radiator hoods on the real thing look black and not grey it also got a covering of matt black and now she's good to go😎 and replace one of my MF 8S models, much nicer looking tractor.
  12. I have decided to make a second improved layout specifically for parking my contractors tractors & tanker rigs etc and also a new barn specifically to store my Claas harvesters. I made the framework last weekend, cut and shaped 18mm MDF in three managable sections during last week. Sprayed two sections with Rustoleum (pebble) for the stone effect and left half the middle section to be sprayed grey where the 600 x 500mm barn will be built. The right side section will be sprayed grass green initially but developed as rough ground for parking trailers etc. I have cut and glued 4 I beam trusses to be deployed at 200mm intervals. These will be getting sprayed once the glue has stiffened overnight and then the build can continue.
  13. Actually why not MDF 6mm and then spray it with some texture or stone effect paint, thats what I am using on my new layout and it leaves a very nice finish.
  14. Well you certainly can bring a piece level with the base partially over the top of the drawer, so that you can still get to its contents. This would allow your driver to pull the muck spreader over it without the risk of a disaster😁.........................I would do that and then perhaps cover both worktops with 4mm hardboard or ply so that it hides the joints underneath.
  15. Personally I think the west has engineered a huge energy crisis of its own making. Joe Biden's "New green deal" is unworkable nonsense.
  16. I hope your tractor driver will be wearing his brown trousers when he tries to get the muck spreader through that narrow gap without it plummeting down onto the kitchen floor😄......................................have to say I like the other layout with the Fords.
  17. The current Magnum only seems to have been out a couple of years and arrived with a great fanfare, but very few seem to have been sold. And yes there have been strikes at HQ, but the real reason is Fendt & JD steam rollered them with better offerings. The most interesting developments will be if the Magnum gets a redesigned Rowtrac with four tracks like the JD 8RX which has wiped the floor with the CASE twintrack, or, and a wheeled Magnum that has a 60K+mph gearbox like the Fendt 900s which are also responsible for the old Magnum's demise. But if the new Puma's & 340 Optum's are anything to go by and the 715 Quadtrac then CASE are fighting back, and that small inset picture of a 405 Magnum looks very interesting.
  18. JCB seem to be progressing nicely with their hydrogen engines, thats the way forward, not electric.
  19. I ordered one of these for my one Joe. And should still look good when one of the sides bust's off😁
  20. That looks same size as an OPTUM 340, surely its too short a wheelbase for a new Magnum?
  21. The top link on the t7.300 winds out so it might fit, but to be honest theres no way the UH model can lift that very heavy marge 7315 front weight whether the link fits on not, far too much play in my ones links. I spent 2 hours taking all the link arms and rods off and packing them out with some glue which had to fully harden before re fitting it all back together, this has stiffened the lift arms right up so now it can hold a weight up for more than 2 seconds!! And annoyingly the lift arms aren't wide enough to reach around the MF front weight so I'm using the one off the T7225 instead.
  22. I think so Joe, you can always tighten up the front links with a micro screw driver. I put the relatively heavy weight off the MF 8S model on it ok. Just had to spray that grey weight over to black to match the NH chassis.
  23. They look best with a colour coded weight box on the front, like the two new T7 PLMs in the picture😎
  24. And we still have the blue power version to come😍 North west farm models first to get them👍
  25. DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It has finally arrived😎 The best looking modern New Holland tractor since the TM190.
