  1. I reckon our local contractor is wishing he had one of those tracked Jags as his 870 got stuck for the umpteenth time on Friday afternoon.
  2. Its still neither a 250 or a 215!!! Its a 6210R with an updated bonnet and SCR exhaust with the 250s pre cleaner added🤬 The real size 250 has the "very obvious" raised cab above the rear fenders, thats why it looks so distinctive. The new bonnet looks more like a 215 (shorter & lower than 250) But this model has the smart 250 pre cleaner up the side which isnt on the 215. Well I won't be buying one, Im happy with my cab converted 6250R original. And I will buy the Deutz 8280 instead, and its faster than JD as well 60kph😁
  3. Nice to see the Valtra Q305 in the Titanium grey.........................finally. And the new model Q is in gold!! Why not produce them in the 3 most popular colour schemes as opposed to whatever is new.
  4. Just noticed that the new NH CR 11 is on wheels not tracks........................apparently new larger diameter tyres that are a match for tracks!
  5. Are these all Agritechnica releases then? Apparently so according to 32 model news.
  6. Since the last post things have turned rather wet which has brought an end to drilling until next spring. Some fields look very good and some others look awful!! We will need some frosty weather if the sprayer is to venture out of the shed anytime soon. Of course the weather has also had an impact on our maize harvest, the first 1000 acres was a doddle, the second 1000 was increasingly tricky and the final 1000 or so has become a war of attrition and a salvage mission. we are down to the last few hundred acres now but most of it is falling over dead and well past its harvest date. On a brighter note the new Kemper header has vastly improved harvesting and we would be much further away from the finish line had we not bought it. We still like to look at whats available on demo's and we recently had the latest JAG 990 visit us for a couple of days which was most appreciated. Although it wasn't much quicker than our 980/Kemper current set up. Its new Orbis header is much improved over our previous 10 row version. Another demo we had a couple of weeks ago was of a John Deere 6R 185 which we all gave the thumbs up. Our dealer informed us that a couple of their 185 hire units had just returned to stock and would we like one to further evaluate and help finish with the maize carting, so we said yes please and its currently joined our 6250R and two of our Fendt 700s on our maize trailer fleet. We are fortunate that many of our customers have a silage trailer or two of their own so we can always bring in additional help wherever we are harvesting. The Fendt MT 943 has gone back to TNS off hire, but we have negotiated a cash deal on the excellent condition 775E Challenger which has been most used recently with a big chain on it following around the maize gang and pulling them out when they get stuck!! Our contractor has put his two Massey 8S tractors on tankers presently, but once again soft ground is making things difficult. The 7S 190 is on the maize run still but we are going to put it on the sprayer in the new year as it should be man enough for most fields, the steepest land will probably see the 6250R put back on it.
  7. They should have released it a couple of years ago. JD have pinched their market at this machines level.
  8. All done, I have to say that this is the best Britains model they have made since the original JD 3000 series some 10 years ago. Britain's accuracy made my job of improving it much easier, apart from the front linkage. I suspect this will become one of Britains best selling models todate.
  9. Caught up with HC Beale and one of their two JAG 970's working locally. Got a nice fleet of tractors, their own 6R.185s & hired in 155s plus a new Fendt 936. I already photographed the MFs & Valtra's their contractors are using. Can't beat maize for entertainment, so many tractors & trailers roaring around🙃 Along with Beale's maize run the local farmer Wortley's were lifting beet with a big Holmer harvester which was easily keeping a pair of NH T7.270's and bailey trailers very busy. I had forgotten how quick modern day beet machines were!!
  10. Been out and about again, so much smart kit around the Fens😎 I forgot to post the new CASE Rowtrac 380 pic I took when I pictured the four 240 Puma's. All Velcourt kit. Such a shame that JDs 8RX has decimated CASE's Rowtrac market☹️ Next up was Pretoria Energy with their broken down Jag 990 and a fleet of idle trailers (about 20 at the final count) And then their newer 990 arrived just before it lashed it down with rain yet again🙄...........must have been a very expensive day with very little work achieved. And they still haven't returned to finish off the last 20/30 acres at Southery which is now falling over dead.
  11. Been working on the cab of late. I removed beacons and stalk, thinned down wingmirrors stems, cut off mirrors and fitted a copper wire so I can change the angle they are positioned at. Replaced grab rails with thinner versions. Painted roof, detailed lights met silver and painted black background behind them. Painted 6 dots on every light to simulate LEDs. Nearly finished it today, looks really decent too.
  12. Schuco took way too long to come out with their Deutz Fahr 8280........................unless a new styled version of the 8280 in real size is due at Agritechnica for 2024 that is..................we will wait and see. I was only aware of new 6 series models to be launched.
  13. Thankyou Atte 32 model news...........DF 8280 & 7250 Warrior ..............Yayyyy!!
  14. Why is he OK with different colour grain or maize trailers then Smithy, that seems odd. I was driving behind a brand new lime green Larrington trailer today.
  15. Yes the R.L are top spec trailers, just wish that customers bought the rootcrops in a different colour as orange isn't a very impacting or eye catching colour. Virtually all the root trailer around here are orange, and we are talking easily 100 trailers on my patch!! And yet R.L grain or maize or tri axle trailers in the locality are black, blue, green, yellow, red, you name it.................but not root crops, very strange.
  16. Pete 132: Would Stewart trailers be the most popular root crop trailer on the market? Not around the fens they aren't, by far and away Richard Larrington "orange" root crop trailers are the most popular & dominate in this area. Then Bailey and Richard Western mop up most of the rest. Stewart and HM seem to be popular with cereals growers. Lots of hired in maize trailers locally, Richard Western top the tree followed by Bailey and Stewart. Richard Larrington again very popular with those farmers who have bought their own maize trailers. Also hoardes of Irish owner drivers turn up for contract works with their own rigs & Irish brand trailers like Kane, Heron, Broughan etc. As for tri axle units I only know of a few around here and they are Richard Larrington's.
  17. GCS Machinery buy and hire out a lot of Stewart trailers Joe, we have quite a few of theirs in these parts. And of course CLAAS are main dealers for Stewart as well which further promotes the brand.
  18. At least when UH upgrade a Claas tractor they remember to redesign the bonnet unlike Wiking.
  19. This is an update video from JD Autopower's youtube blog and as its too wet to drill, so he goes visiting his neighbours potato harvest, some great action and machinery struggling to get out the increasingly valuable crop.
  20. Heres a few CASE tractors for Smithy. The local Velcourt farm were working 3 fields side by side. Lifting beet in one with a mighty Grimme Rexor, huge machine and really quick as well, plus a new Puma 240 on the cart. Next field there were two more new 240 Puma's on spud lifting, with yet another Puma 240 on the drill in the background. And in the last field following the spud boys was a new CASE Rowtrac 380 with a big HeVa cultivator.
  21. Time for an update, I have been canabalising the wiking JD 6125r and have switched over the slimmer buddy seat into the britains cab. Also I have swapped steering wheels as well. Done some painting in the cab, put some brown paint on the arm console and a bit of grey to hide the green paint in the cab. I decided to pinch the steps treads off the 6125 and overlay them on the new model which looks ok. The really hard job is preparing the way to fit the Wiking front linkage onto the britains. Angle grinding with great care plus lots of filing & hack sawing. But its almost ready to be glued in place. Also done quite a bit to the cab as well but will cover that in the next update.
  22. This new model from Britains is very good, but it could possibly be even better. I have acquired a cheap Wiking JD 6125R and I'm going to attempt to improve the 185 by stripping parts of the 6125. Last time I did this was on a Siku JD 8370R and a week after I finished it Wiking brought out the 8R 410!! Hopefully that won't happen this time. First job was to remove the front linkage and then mask off the tractor and spray paint the rims JD yellow.
