Dan
Bit of an update ,first off 2 new tractors have arrived well new too us a couple of JD 6930 These came off a local estate and haven't done massive hours both on a 62plate are the last of the 30 series. Never realy took to the 30 series when they first came out after a bad experience with the 7530. With the 20 series we run now getting on they are slowly being traded in not keen on the R series it was decided to find some low hour 30 series The old 6920s was traded in for the 6930s and the other tractor will take over the work from the 7810 JD brought earlier hopefully keeping the hours low on that tractor. With the nice weather silage has been well underway, we decided to buy a small trailer as alot of farmers like to pull a trailer themselves and our trailers can sometimes be abit big for their tractors. The trailer has had a full overhaul and will also be useful on longer hauls Quick snap of the New Claas in the silage

Dan
With the nice weather last week a start was made on the Barley. The combine is in its 2nd season with us and is co owned with a local farmer. Seen here going on into the evening on the Barley. We have a few acres of our own to cut after the farmer then onto some customers. The cheque book has been out again, changing a John Deere 6820 for a 12 plate 6930 this tractor has greenstar and will take over some of the fertilizing and possibly drilling when busy. Its main duties are trailer work seen here with the 6920 carting away from the combine. The straw was fit to bale straight away so Jack has been following the combine with the Krone baler ,which is getting on in years but is still going well thanks to regular maintenance. Dan
With work being quiet over winter a lot of time has been spent in the workshop, the main thing to come out the doors is the new bale trailer a 30ft trailer with sprung drawbar 10 stud commercial axles with air brakes & large nokian tyres. Few jobs to do before it is finished include fit the floor ,put the lights on & pipes for the air brakes. Have had a lot of farmers moving more & more straw further & further away so decided a new trailer was needed, it also helps keep us busy over winter. Also gave the old green silage trailer a new lease of life with a new paint job, commercial axles & air brakes to go with it. A friend of ours had a large consignment of commercial axles so we have taken the time to fit them too our trailers & feel the bigger brakes are a lot safer & allow us to run bigger tyres reducing compaction. Have also fitted all the silage & grain trailers with a set of lights at the top of the door and also a flashing beacon. Picked this Stewart lowloader up at a local sale ,don't currently have a digger but has come in handy moving tractors around & the telehandler when going away to jobs

Stabliofarmer
Always love seeing your updates Dan, one of the best farms on the forum, loving the big bale trailer but why do the two Marston's have the same number plate?
Dan
Thanks for the comment James , its as mark said as long as the tractor with that number plate is owned by the farm that number plate can be on all the trailers, saves them having to be swapped. Or use specific trailers on tractors.

Dan
Not updated this for a while so , not a lot going on at the moment. Just before Christmas we Picked up a John Deere 3050 from a Farm sale. Took the 7810 for a run out to pick it up. 1 carefull owner ,very genuine tractor .........isn't realy how to describe it. With 12000hrs showing on the stopped clock the real figure could be anything. Although looking rough it runs well and will be done up but for now is a handy yard shunter. More recently Jack has been out doing a few days ploughing ,he has been using the 5 furrow plough just to make life abit easier in some of the wetter fields. Also managed too get the new bale trailer finished off been using it to deliver straw to some customers. Decided to make a new trailer every year and cull off some of the older trailers.
