CMB
All-too-brief chat with the drivers: One had difficulties getting in... ...And out That's enough for today as I need to get some kip. Couple of non-machinery snaps of the show to follow when I can.

robbo
Shes no Supermajor. Thats a 4000. Justin the Pre Force Fords also had the names of the previous models as well as the new numbering system. hence 2000 = Dexta 3000 = Super Dexta 4000 = Major 5000 = Super Major
Lord Ferguson
Some lovely images there... and a very rare 590 4wd conversion.... they look strange with a standard front tombstone Thanks for sharing and please keep up the good work
justy 46
Justin the Pre Force Fords also had the names of the previous models as well as the new numbering system. hence 2000 = Dexta 3000 = Super Dexta 4000 = Major 5000 = Super Major I know all that. But SUPERMAJOR = 4000? Fair enough they carried on the names. As you stated your right But a 4000 Major is a 3cyl & a Supermajor 4cyl even tough the 4000 pushed out an extra few HP over the older FORDSON Supermajor. That pic is a Pre Force 4000 Major. Not a Supermajor. When he stated Supermajor ,i tought he ment the Fordson Supermajor. He could have also ment the 5000 Supermajor. Easy mistake. I was only correcting him! CMB
Correction noted, I did indeed mean 4000 Major not Supermajor. Thanks lads Thanks for sharing and please keep up the good work Thanks Mark I will try, though uploading, editing and pasting etc is such a time-consuming palava they will be few in number and only when I have the odd hour to fill

WillTEF20
The costswold show and cirencester is only about 5 miles from where our farm is . We have just bought a 6 meter KV ts evo drill from them.
CMB
Some summer farm work I was involved with last year, but couldn't be bothered to didn't find time to upload. To start, some dirt shovelling and moving for JP Rook farms, Tetbury, with a New Holland TS135A and Manitou : This broke in my hands, it was rusted through! CMB
Some of the dirt was destined for a parking space, which this Terex was creating: Space was tight: Greasing the Manitou. This made me realise how inflexible I am!
CMB
A rather less pleasant task was cleaning out the grain silos for the upcoming harvest. There were at least 16 chambers in buildings on two sites in total, and it took several days of shovelling, sweeping and blowing:
CMB
More machinery photos were taken on this farm but I've miss-placed them. Anyway I'll try a couple of videos, although I think they will just link to Photobucket rather than play in situ: http://s448.photobuc...0-6-2011036.mp4 http://s448.photobuc...0-6-2011034.mp4 http://s448.photobuc...0-6-2011019.mp4 Yep as I thought. Oh well it'll have to do. I went on to do work on another farm using JCBs and Masseys F's, but have yet to upload these onto Photobucket.
jdc
Interesting bits of kit you found on your travels. Cleaning out bins and conveyors is a horrible job.

CMB
Just a small grab of the machine I've been using over the past few days, a JCB Loadall 530 70. I'm not sure what year it is as it doesn't have the original registration, but I'd estimate early 90s. It's clock read 47713 hours. All in all 5 pallets and crates of Mandarin paving slabs, 3 bulk bags of sand and cement and one bulk bag of topsoil, moved about 200 yards. Too big for our driveway really, I'd have preferred a Merlo or something smaller. These should give you some idea of how narrow the lane is:
CMB
A few of the machines from the little hillside farm where I now work occasionally, it's a stone's throw from my house: Two Zetors: MF 40 and Leyland 384 (cab removed at the moment): One of two Fordsons, this one a Power Major: Newest machine is this 1996/97 New Holland 6635 permanently mated to a Prima 1490 loader: The farmer's father used to have two David Browns, a Cropmaster and 990 (possibly more) but they have long gone. Pity really because the son's called David Browning...

CMB
Zetor #1, and my ride last week is this 4wd Zetor 8045 (I think- the lettering on both sides has faded), : Zetor #2 is this 2wd 8011 which spends most of its time shuffling around the yard. CMB
some nice old kit there chris, dont see to much of old zetors nowadays I get the impression Zetors were quite powerful in their day Paul, particularly the turbocharged machines in the late 70s. Much more popular over here than other Soviet bloc makers like Belarus and Ursus.
CMB
We started off gathering bales with this Chillington bale lifter, recently purchased but certainly not recently made; it had a ram leak at the back and apparently the stack in the field had to be the right height and cleanly stacked to get a clean grab. Plus it just dumps the bales in the barn and you don't have the height of a trailer: So we came 'round to the view that loading/unloading flat trailers made more sense, though the three trailers available were small and degrading:
CMB
...some new kit that did prove useful was this Cook flat-8 bale grab: It was used to create the field stacks, load the trailers and later drop onto the established stack in the barn (and also came in handy to lift us up and down the stack) Farm John Deere 359 baler and accumulator (bit out of focus as I was a way-away, oh for Tim's Panasonic:
