Busch did a couple of Fortschritt combines (and MDW) in 1/87th scale but sadly that was it. No 1/32 models ever made afaik.

yep, thats right - very nice those little E514s lovely detail for the size.  There was a kit of an E512, but again it was in a tiny scale.  I have toyed with the idea of attempting a scratch build of something similar to the one in the photo...its very boxy which would help!

Generally they had E514's and E516/517 over here, not sure about the E512. They also brought the self levelling E524 later as well. The farm that owns the 517in the photo had a 524for a year never got a photo unfortunately

E512 was also sold in the UK but in smaller numbers. I think the big hit was the E514 and some E516s. Don't know if you had MDW's, guess some must have made it? We had quite a few around. Back in the 70s a Fortschritt E516 with 25ft header was the biggest combine money could buy in Europe.

There is a 1/32ish card model available of a Fortschritt combine, E514 I believe. But that's about it. A friend of mine build some from scratch: http://mgmakett.blogspot.com/search/label/Fortschritt%20E-514%20%281%3A32%29

Here's another paper / card based model i've discovered of a Fortshritt E-514...

I also have a UK sales brochure on the Bonhill badged Fortshritt combines which i'll more than happily scan and post up in a seperate topic for anyone who's interested.

Yes please David, I'd love to see it, been trying to find one on eBay.

I did see a case liveried MDW a few years ago, it was a 525 but I don't know whether it's still around

I'll post it up at the end of the week Joe, and it can be the start of my brochure collection thread. I can only remember one of the old blue and white Fortshritt combines working around here at a farm near York. There was also a local agricultural engineer / farmer that operated a Bonhill badged Fortshritt 4304 rape swather, it's since been moved on also.

:( Here is a really good review of the IH 1455XL,it's a Google translate version,so not the best, but a very good insight into the quality of the must have model, the reviewer was not overly impressed by the paint finish,he even found a hair in the paint on the three point linkage :of which you can see in the pictures,

That review doesn't seem to justify the models rather hefty price tag  :( Not too sure about this one now.

Perhaps i'm just not as picky, but i'm not complaining one bit with the one I bought today, but then I am a sucker for a big classic such as this. There's a couple of barely noticeable blemishes on the rear linkage, however, it's still a fantastic looking model and one I'd thoroughly recommend. :)
