Light Land
some nice pictures there,im surprised at the 7070 on a 5 metre simba, obviously it can handle it A pass with the discs only like a samba x press before a 2nd pass with the legs down (25cm) is common pratice Paul other wise 5km is flat out and the discs don't mix the top soil very much. That paddock is abit lighter and saved for later drilling.

Jdeere6910
Your very welcome Pat, that wheat is almost out of the ground now. Does it still look as sparse as the seed rate suggests? some nice pictures there,im surprised at the 7070 on a 5 metre simba, obviously it can handle it Thanks Paul, these kiwis don't know they are born. It's boys land really, lovely and light and will grow just about anything. Got to say the big NH did pull the simba really well though I bet the visit was a big change to what happens in Yorkshire You're not wrong there James, it's a massive difference to home. But you have to farm to your situation so I suppose that's why everywhere is different
mrol
I rather like these NH T7s - nice looking machines. The local contractor to us has a T7.250 amongst all their JD 30 series for harvest this year. No doubt a hire machine but still a much nicer looking thing than the JD (IMO...before the JD boys lynch me) - maybe it's just because the JDs are absolutely everywhere around me that they get a little repetitive! Light Land
Does it still look as sparse as the seed rate suggests? Yer thin Pat but every seed has poped up all within 24hrs. All going well plenty of inputs will give the combine a good feed come feb/aprill off that paddock.

Jdeere6910
Been a long time since I last updated this topic as now when I'm home I seem to take less photos but here goes. Back in January last year we swapped the trusty 6910 for a 3000 hour 6930. It will be interesting to see if the 6910 will become one of the all time great classics but in the end we needed a newer tractor. The 6910 just before it was sold. And the 6930 which replaced it At Easter the farm where I work got a new MF 7620. Which I ended up spending most of summer driving. And a few photos from spring/summer

Jdeere6910
Quick update. Since July I've been on my work placement from Harper, working on a 600 cow dairy farm so I really only see cows now. But snapped the odd machines as well. Contractors 10 series at silage, the farm transport, my ride when fencing, a couple of pictures from harvest at home and some cows

Jdeere6910
Thanks Paul, the tracked JD was on a slurry stirrer, its sat on the bank of the lagoon in that picture. Good way of using a big cultivation tractor over winter if you can afford the fuel I guess
