I'm fairly certain that massey beta combine from last harvest is our next door neighbour at home, its a small world

I photographed it not far from a caravan site near Mablethorpe Jack. That was part of a fantastic trip out I had over harvest last year when I covered the area between Louth and Skegness. :)

Seen as though there has been such a vast gap in between when I was last posting pictures on the forum, a brief interlude if you will. I'll post up a few sets like this from time to time, just to give you an idea of the variety of machinery I have been fortunate enough to find and track down with my camera.

More from my most recent travels coming soon. Here's another set of photographs I thought would look quite nice together. I've always been fascinated by Case IH's old style Magnums, and whilst i've yet to photograph any of the 7100 series ( digitally ) I have tracked down the following 7200, and 7200 Pro series tractors recently, along with the tractors I have found this year.

I see you photographed around Doncaster on multiple occasions David. Can you still trace a bit of history back on farms in that area or is it all John Deere now like the rest of the UK?

I would say John Deere, and Case IH are the two big brands in the area Niels. But there are a good mix of the other brands on farms too. It all really depends on which side of Doncaster you travel to. I've photographed most makes in and around the Doncaster area.:)

Red Power Part II - Another big rigid tractor I have a huge interest in is International's impressive 5288 ( and 5488 ) from the early '80s. It all started when as a tractor mad 6 year old my Dad took me to see a 5288 ploughing right behind where we used to live at Pickering in 1989.The tractor belonged to Scarbrough farmer Martyn Simpson, and whilst we were there my Dad rather pleasingly took a couple of photographs which I have cherished ever since.

Turn the clock forward 23 years and I was over joyed to be reunited with the very same tractor refurbished to a high standard and put back to work by Cleveland farmer Paul Stevenson.

Keen to find more of these tractors in action, I then travelled to Suffolk last spring to photograph Andrew Brown's 5288 ploughing with another Kverneland 7 furrow reversible plough.

Whilst I was there I also had the opportunity to photograph Andrew's 5488.

During my harvest travels last summer I enjoyed catching up with Guisborough farmer Andrew Brunton's 2wd 5288 hauling this Horsch chaser bin. One of only two 2wd 5288 tractors that reside in the UK.

A unique sight. The only 2wd International 5288 tractors in the UK, belonging Andrew Brunton, and Paul Stevenson.

That's enough red power for the time being. How about some classic green and yellow muscle.

John Deere 4050 and 4055 Series.

Andrew Brown's John Deere 4450 ready to go ploughing Suffolk.

A 4650 I found on a farm in East Yorkshire.

The Rainthorpe family's 4850.

Andrew Brunton's disguised K plate 4755 badged as a State side 4760 on chaser bin duties in 2013.

A 4955 on the same farm in East Yorkshire as the 4650.

Arguabley the star of last year's Cereals event. Sumo's now since moved on 4955 providing the power for one it's Trio cultivators.
