This is actually near Sharpsburg, Maryland. This is the Joseph Poffenberger farm on the Antietam National Battlefield. A bloody battlefield of the American Civil War. I took the photo a few months ago.

Looks lovely scenery Corky, is it hot over there at the moment

Thank you. Yes, the days have been in the mid 90’s. About two weeks ago we had a three day stretch of 97° + days.  Then some thunderstorms cooled things off for a short while. Storms expected here tonight and tomorrow. But August is hot and humid usually in south central Pennsylvania. This is as far south as I have ever lived. You could not pay me to live in Florida. I’ll take the snow and cold in the winter before that.

Nice photos Corky, it surprises me the fact that alot of machinery is left about outside it still looks in relatively good condition with the exception of a bit of paint fade.... not your average sight over here in England

That's very true Paul, just goes to show the difference of a drier climate

Beautiful pic Dan. Reminds me of the Ozark Foothills where I live

Two more from Franklin County Pennsylvania and one from Carbon County Pennsylvania on a cold and icy day last year……..and one from on top of the Blue Mountain in Lehigh County………..The first two from Franklin County are just down the road, the one from Carbon Country was from a deer hunting trip, and the last one from on top of the mountain along the tower line is where I hiked when I lived there several years ago.

Took a ride this cold and rather cloudy Monday afternoon with my chihuahua. November 29, 2021. I tried to get a few different photos but the only problem is that there is no place to pull over and there always seemed to be a car or truck behind me. Thus, the photos are taken from inside my Toyota RAV4:

This is an old photo, as you can see, taken sometime in the mid 1970’s, of two of my very good friends who farmed in the Quakake Valley of Carbon County, Pennsylvania. These are old Farmall Tractors I believe and this is father and son with the father in the lead tractor. They farmed about 120 acres between two mountains. I have known the family since 1969 and unfortunately the father passed away a few years ago. Now his son and wife run the small dairy farm. (sorry about the quality of the photo but it is old)

This is only a painting, of course, but it is very representative of the farm country in my part of Pennsylvania. I just thought it was cute with the little Amish girl watching the geese following them. We have many Amish farms here in Franklin County as well as in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. They have beautiful farms and raise wonderful crops to sustain the farms, mostly dairy farms, and also sell some quality produce and baked goods at their roadside stands. They are fine people.
