Paint colours

JC

Question

As it seems quite a few people are getting into this converting and building lark I thought it might be an idea to have a colour reference topic, maybe it will help a few of us along with getting a close match colour off the shelf for a particular brand.

If you've used a particular "off the shelf" colour to match up to a particular brand and you don't mind sharing it with others then please post it up here.

Need some help please,Back on page 1 MJB suggests plasticote smoke grey for older mf's,would that paint be like the charcoal grey colour or stoneleigh?

I'm after a close match for the stoneleigh grey on the tier3 masseys if anyone could help

the plasticote grey is a very light ferguson grey for 100 & 500 series , not a great match , but it's quick drying & cheap !

roof colour for a mf4455?

3000 sieres massey wheel colour?

fiat newholland 110-90 Blue?

4455 genuine roof colour is smoke grey and I'm 80% sure it is for 3000 wheels.

when I painted my 5455 roofs I used plasticote grey primer then a coat of clear lacquer looked very close match

come on boys did you not know that ::);D ,,,pantone ,,,RAL,,,along with BS (British standard) colours you can get these from ,,halfords,, these are set colors that if you pick a colour from any of these range they should be available to get in any make or type of paint ,even home base ,B&Q in house hold gloss or emulsion

halfords mini mix is ok ,but i would find a motor factors that do aerosols to be more accurate ,as for the link on scalemodel paint good idea but you are looking at a computer screen and every ones computer screen has different resolution so the colours displayed will be different,,paint colours should ONLY be checked from colour chips / swatches and checked inside and out side for lighting

hope this helps ;)
