The rough surface of a matt finisheans decals adhere poorly, I've seen it alot with truck stuff where they recommend a gloss coat, decals, then a matt lacquer to finish before final weathering. Will see how i get on, its got a sort of matt and satin finish anyway , i guess down to how i put the coats on , its just a bit to shine new looking for the finish i want

Would you be able to hide a magnet under the silo lid so you could lift it out with one of those pick up tools, then drop and poke it back on...it’d do away with the bit of rod you needed to add. i hadn't thought of that martin, got plenty of the small magnets left ,so may try it out
Tractorman810
roofing sheet arrived today,so in between the filler drying i managed to get it fitted, facia boards on and stained, and pretty much finished now bar guttering, so with luck maybe tomorrow it and the new floors will be up in place on the layout, i can do the track and greenery down the side to the gate, which leaves me space to get going properly on the granary build then . 8
Tractorman810
all in place now, had to have a move round as where the granary would have sat, it would not have fitted due to the roof pitch ,as i though, so the recent new piggeries moved, and the gap left is where the new build will go, should allow a silo each side of the door ,plus one in the gap between the end and the dutch barn. cant get all round pics as i need to clean out this side a bit, got the track board in the shed setting, along with verges ready, so will sort that out next, then i can work out the rest of the yard infront of the granary before proceeding with the build so it all sits ok .

Tractorman810
Just used my woodland scenics static king for the first time, and wow , so much easier to use than my cheapo one, and the flock stands up right away, not one for spending big on something like this normally but hell was this worth it, think once this tracks in i will do the scenic bit across the back , try a bigger area out
