All the basics worked out now, pipes ect roughly in place , now to add a bit of detailing, this will be floored over so doesn't need to be spot on bar whats visible and some colour .

had a test of the cladding today, have run out of some plastic to finish the inside , ,and so have the local model shop so ordered online. have used ferrets balsa idea, which i have used in the past, but never with this weathering wash, so far both front panels has cost me 1.25 and i am only half way through the first sheet, its a .8mm thick one, cut into 7mm wide planks, which i then cut a rough edge to on one side to get the rough finish effect. lot cheaper than the strips i was going to use, and a nice effect i think. all down to ferret though .

cheers guys, didnt get any time at it properly last weekend, a few jobs over ran,  but i do have a 4 day weekend this weekend, so hopefully i can get some time out there again, the plastic i wanted has arrived now.

Little bit more done while waiting for some Filler to dry, leccy Motors  on and control panel sorted, belt on the hammer mill/blower, bit of sanding ect once all set and should be ok for some colour and fix in place so i can build the timber work round it all

also been having a test for some feed sacks, all our pig meal was in hessian sacks, some were years old, no need for plastic sacks back then, will need a good few,sat on the platform, and for the trailer, along with some empties . they are about the size of the sack on the britains figure carrying one, so hopefully one can fit that when i find my spare one

They look great Sean, I thought they where sculpted at first they look so naturally filled. I'm guessing they're something like filter paper or rizla?

they are interface material, thick grade one, you just iron it to seal /fix it ,have dyed it in a tea , filled with kiln dried sand ,which is nice and fine ,so allows movement ect these are only a test, but i think its close enough, want to try and get some printing on as well, our were all from various companies, some old seed sacks, stuff like that,  , see us farmers were recycling years ago .

They certainly look very effective. A rubber stamp may work well for getting printing on, cut away at a lino block or similar so just the lettering is left in reverse.

Looking brilliant Sean, lots of detail going into this one. Sacks are great. Would they be cwt sack that were used instead of 25kg size?

Yes mate , big old buggers They were, very comfy to sit on mind when on the trip to the other farm to restock

Not going to far on this detail wise, will be under the floor anyway , but gives the effect, silos just been painted and will get weathered down once dry, also need to put a light under there some where , give the roofs coming off for access i need to figure out the best way to light inside anyway, also got a , platforms the perfect height for trailer loading , need to sort a proper figure out yet , but you get the idea

I'm liking this alot Sean, great industrial model railway sort of vibes on the go. And I think the stone blocks look the most effective you've done yet, the colour and texture really pop on them.

Cheers james , i am really enjoying this one, have always wanted one on the layout , since tris did his, but i lacked the skill back then and the materials(blocks) now i have made my own cast ect it is easier .

i made a start on the two silos this afternoon , bit of maths needed to work out diameters and radius to form a cardboard tube, strength added inside   by foam board  discs, clad in card .

cheers john, once i get the silos done, i can fix the front two walls, and look at the bridging between them ,the door/doors and roof, pit it on the scales as well, weighs in at 2.5 kg at present, all that concrete floor and blocks i guess .
