The Weather in General

We came out of winter very dry and mild,

not like the previous two, cold and wild.

Early spring came dry and hot,

would this continue?, I thought not!

Summer?, what summer?, it's been a bit of a bummer.

If into the records we delve we're told it's been the wettest since 1912.

;)

It was quite windy on the drive to work today but a pleasant 8 to 9 degrees. There was a lot of wind over night and on some of the roads I thought the Council had been out and gritted with sand...no but the roads were a sea of pine needles in places especially the Clinterty to Kirkhill forest road.

Reading the headlines on the Daily Express today; it would appear that in a few weeks time we could be experiencing temperatures of minus 20 degrees C and the very heavy snowfalls; the like of which we wouldn't have seen in the last hundred years.

It's difficult to believe that at the moment. We've had a few days where the temperature has been about four degrees, but today has been very mild. probably about 13 degrees. I was quite shocked at this revelation, and had already made my mind up that this winter would be as mild as last winter.

I'm always a little sceptical of long range weather forecasts so we'll have to wait and see. maybe we (Us Southerners) will have a white Christmas. They have said the South and South East could be the worst affected, so we'll have to wait and see!

Was a white frost start to the day in Aberdeenshire but the sun did actually come out this afternoon 8)

Me thinks I need to wash my car tomorrow assuming these nice conditions continue...since it hasn't seen a proper wash for weeks due to the snow and rain.

A frosty start in Aberdeenshire today and temperatures reached 4 to 5 degrees C with the sun out....almost light until 4 pm but tomorrow forenoon rain is forecast...but on a positive note temperatures are on the increase for the rest of the week 8)
