1/32 Ford D Series

Recommended Posts

Had the blueprints drawn up for this for a while, and keep seeing more and more possible builds using the cab so today I made a start on a Ford D series going to be casting them so designed to be made with the old and new grille, and mudguards for bith the small, medium and large wheel type.

First test of the moulds completed this evening, overall very pleased, just a few minor tweaks to sort.

Small and medium tyre sizes are drawn up on CAD ready to send to the 3D printers. Once I've got them I can sort out the chassis components.

My plan is to have a 'modular' chassis system, basically a cast front axle and engine assembly, with spacers to take different wheel sizes, and a the same with the rear spring and axle, which will slot onto a plastruct U channel, allowing for any chassis length or axle set up to be achieved. With fuel tank etc included as glue on parts.

Then supply other parts as necessary such as bodies or full builds, possibly a steering axle option.

Still a bit of work/experimentation required before I can guarantee that though.
