L33 DA17ON
As I've said fantastic work. Itll be great to see what else you decide to build. So realistic. Like said in a earlier post if it was out side with the backdrop it would look real. Great work mate keep it up.
Tractorman810
Thanks lee , been enjoying doing it i must say , nice to have the time, going to have a quiet day on it tomorrow then hit the last bits in the garden saturday , then its back to it properly, down side i sit in tje shed doing this and i realise how much isnt finished build wise, so i ordered the pint for the kidd spreader yesterday , try and clear the implement shelf , also sorting bits to go at the almer again as well as thats 80% done now

Tractorman810
little tease now, prob is, if i go for it, its the whole layout ,so some time needed ,question is, honest opinions is it worth it . 5
844john
Certainly looks good from the picture Sean
Tractorman810
i made another temp mould up and did another 12 after this john, i want to see what colour they dry to really,,and i think a bigger area would be easier to see as well effect wise , they are the same depth as the board the buildings on, whilst i cant re-do any of those flooring wise, it may be a nice option for the open yard areas, they are all different so if i like the shade they dry to, i may invest in some mould materials, . 844john
I think the colour looks about spot on actually, to be fair real concrete comes in different shades depending on how liberal the man who mixed it was with the cement! I certainly think it will look realistic on the layout
Tractorman810
thats what i thought, the next 12 have come out with various bubbles and marks in them, all random ,so the mould should copy them, plus i don't need to be so perfect with them either ,like i do with the blocks where i need the finish , as it gives me even more chips, holes and marks, they can be broken for the cracked panel's as well
Tractorman810
thats 16 made now, and time to decide, i am actually pretty happy with them, all are different so hopefully the moulds will copy them ok, its going to take a while ,plus i will need to go back over the “finished” bits, poss required a wood board to mount on, but its looks way better than the painted ones, .why didnt i try this earlier , its crossed my mind several times as well .

Tractorman810
new piggery put back in place temp, while i do the other old one opposite, and ponder the poss granary build, and of course the new yard finish,if the materials ever turn up, postage has gone very very slow down here the last couple of week, along with stuff going missing .

Tractorman810
still not received the parts i really needed so got going on this, have decided to add a rough lean to on it, just to put some implements under, few odds and sods, far end will be clad, the rest open, with a soil floor, have run out of clay ,so will see how this sets, with some weathering, if it doesn't look right ,i can scrape it down and clay over it . base weathering on, and a different shade of floor ,same method as before, as its easier in the buildings.will use this roofing sheet i think, break up al the tin ones a bit 5
Tractorman810
New yard production line under way, will make enough for the side under re-furb already , then come back and do the rest 2
Tractorman810
also been tinkering with the barn between casts as they dry, lights fitted and working, gates in, bar weathering, and first bit of roof cut, thought i had enough to do it ,but just ordered 2 fresh sheets from mandy @Hlt Miniatures , means i can get the panel removable on the larger side now .
Tractorman810
Total of 54 made today, 3 or 4 broke so bad i couldn’t use them, so not much wastage, all have different edges and surface finish, plus the ones that broke and could be glued are all different as well . So a good finish with luck,

Tractorman810
they are all 6mm ,so they sit flush with the 6mm foam board i build each building on as a base, ,scaled to 6ft x 10 ft, could have gone bigger i guess , i could also have built each unit on a base like this as well, but most had been done before i decided to try it out .
Tractorman810
Been mainly busy on the barn today , 18 more slabs made mind, side lean to isnt far off done now till i get the greenery on, end panel all fitted and weathered, roof toned down , few hydraulic stains on the soil , stuff like that , water and feed troughs in along with glazing started the main doors 6
