Deere-est
Terrific looking shed, coming along in pretty snazzy fashion. Your chemical store probably won't pass it's inspection though \ \
Jez
Looking excellent!! Will you still be able to access everything when it is finished, e.g. under the chemical store? When i was looking at a two floor idea i was going to glue everything to the floor and make it easily removable. Keep up the good work. I am very jealous..... What i'm hoping to do is make it so you can lift the floor off to gain access to the chemical store, so the stuff on the top level will probably be glued down. Deere-est
I know there is a lot more red tape than just these (the bain of all us sane people!). It must have twin outward opening doors (not sure of min. width) and the roof must be accessible by the fire brigade to tackle a fire from above. jakescot
yes and high and low ventilation..............you could always make a smaller steel container type one to be sited undercover closer to the fresh air at the front of the shed with nothing above..unless you have heaps of chemicals to store, could always do two?..... ...not being picky I love what you are doing this is a top build...going to be some shed when finished

Oh well in that case its not an official chemical store, just a storage area, that chemicals just happen to be in. ;D

philiprutland
Hi, have just finished looking through all 30 pages, wow what a build!!!! Your attention to detail is a credit to you. I loved the way that as you were doing work on the layout the "farm" was doing the work. How did you hear of all the specialist suppliers? Was it word of mouth on forums such as this or did you spend a lot of time researching on t'internet? Keep us posted on the new build. I just wouldn't of had the heart to dismantle all that work, I would have cried :'(. I must say that you either have a very understanding partner or bank manager (or maybe both!!). Well done mate keep it coming. P.S. (as it seems to be a a recurring theme) how did you make the square, round & silage bales? (joke)

As for the specialist suppliers, most of them are from people on the forum, who have stands at Spalding or Toytrac, there are some odd bits off of ebay, and some bits are my own build, which is what i am trying to do more of. markduck
Been slowly carrying on with the new building, plans have changed slightly. It is now going to be a general stores area for fertilizer, cattle and sheep feed and stuff like that. There is still the work shop with the upstairs for parts, room underneath will now be a staff room/ office. First picture is of one side complete, with the door to the staff room. Next picture is a close up of the outside staff room door complete with handle. This one is of the other entrance to the staff room and the staircase the parts section. markduck
looks great Mark!!, love it!! How did you do the roller door??, what is the door made from?? It is grey card from Mandy, Put a bit a plastruct rod in the sides which then go into a bracket that is on the uprights. Will take some closer pictures once it is complete and rolls up and down, as things might change if it doesn't work.
Lady Ferguson
Sheds coming along really well, Mark - nice to see something a bit different, with an upstairs as well. Did you make the door and fittings from scratch?

Did you make the door and fittings from scratch? So far everything is from scratch, so doors are made from different bits of plastruct, stairs are made of MDF and plastruct for the steps. markduck
Here is some more pictures of the amazing feed and slug pellet sacks that Mandy has done for me. Like i said in the recenct purchase topic i used cling film to wrap the sacks onto the pallets as this is how most of them arrive around here rather than the black plastic. markduck
Well its been absolutely ages since i posted in this topic, where does the time go !!! The main construction work for the new workshop/ general store is now complete, just the small details left to do, but will probably take even more time than the building. So the 3 roller doors are in and do function, not smoothly but good enough for my first doors. The second level is in with stairs and guard rail. All personel doors are in still some detail to add to one of them. All cladding is done, panels are all in, roof done just need skylights, which will be from Mandy. Guttering and downpipes are in. So it just needs filling to make it look like a used building rather than being empty. Enough talking here are some pictures.
