Whats on your workbench???
Deere-est replied to MODELFARMER's topic in Other Conversions & Scratch Builds
Got a few ideas floating around the more time I spend on the roads seeing trucks in all directions so I whipped this apart and am now looking at truck colours on t'internet. I am surprised at the detail in this model having now stripped it down to the bare essentials. Coloured light lenses, individual cab steps, the exhaust system, air canisters, the grill itself - being removable in two parts which will help painting Build wise, it'll get extended and take a midi-pusher axle like the pic show. http://www3.picturepush.com/photo/a/3455586/1024/2010-05-15/DSC-5829-border.jpg -
New boots for I. My Dickies have eventually retired to the Bonfire Nursing Home and my little tootsies are now residing in a nice new pair of Bucklers during working hours - which is more than sleeping and leisure hours. I could do with some instep supports though, I looked at numerous boots over the past two weeks and all are flat soled inside

New Agrifac High Clearance Sprayer ready for Agritechnica
Deere-est replied to stehos's topic in Other Farm Equipment
I think the wieghts Stehos gave are from the factory itself, Joe. Proper inside information -
Pelting down! Putting a bit of diesel in the rigid near St Albans and it hasn't stopped raining since Hungerford, at times the motorways have been down to 40mph and it isn't even busy yet. The spray is horrendous. Seen one car in the barrier already, a BMW 330 coupe! Bit of a mess too \

Na, buy it from Mandy and weather it with weathering paint. Simples. ;)

Nice shots of the sand dressing, Mike. Has the ground been spiked or anything first?

Lovely photos, although work is being done it looks quiet. .. Now, I don't mean that in a work load way but the Vervaet is plodding up and down on his own, one tractor and trailer keeping up nicely, Gav's turning the soil over. . ... It just sets a nice scene if you see what I mean. :)

Ouch. . .. that's a bit of a kick in the dry roasted actually, Joe. They are not too flattering for the model are they \ -
I like that workshop scene there, Mike. Nice seeing it all going on

Local contractor has a new 1100, Joe. 'dicky' has been on maize with him. Be interesting to hear what he says of it . . . -
Me me meeee!!! That's a great show Bar outside

It sold the day after you saw it I think, for the asking price too. So it must have been a bargain! A 6290 arrived yesterday on an 02, that will be the farms tractor I should think.

Nice, you never do anything run of the mill. All your builds are spot on, Joe. -
I have used a Quantock post rammer, very very good. Strong machine and good for banging in straining posts and because of the mast tilt you can bang the struts part way in too, then chain saw the notch out in the post and push the strut home. It had mast fore and aft movement, side to side movement and the side to side tilt. The knocker was controlled in cab but a spare spool is fitted should you wish to use it for operating the knocker from outside. It was an older version of this one I think. http://www.quantockfarmmachinery.co.uk/machinery/post-drivers/pd5

Oi cheeky chops Chanel, I heard that!! :D Allis has put it in one easy to read reply brilliantly. It seems there were two points being made. Sniping etc who some do not mind while others do, which of course is fine and nothing wrong in that. The other of course was running someone up to bid higher which I think we all agree happens but is not fair. I know a chap who did this and the other bidder dropped out at the last minute. It cost him over £5k . . . . I think it's technically called having it 'stuffed up your bum' :D

It really is, Paul. Love the work, Iain. I hope we see plenty more :)

May need a few teeth!! I find if your working with pieces too big for the table (barn frames and so on) you can rough cut by hand and then cut the precise angle time and time again on the table.
