robl12 Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Can anyone tell me anything about these tractors? A work colleague has one but I have never heard of them Quote
BC Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Well neither had I Rob but that chappy google is more clever than me and he found this for me http://www.holtractors.co.uk/viewtractor-id-111-l-Ford-333.htm Quote
The Tractor Twitcher Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Don't know anything about them, but i'm sure they get a mention in Stuart Gibbard's Ford Tractor Story book as being part of a "Highway" range of Ford tractors. Here's a restored one I found at Newby Hall Rally last year. Regards David. Quote
BC Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Shame it didn't get entry number 333 though at the rally ;) 1 Quote
robl12 Posted March 12, 2009 Author Posted March 12, 2009 The picture you found bill is like the one he has go ie. with the Q cab. It also has a front loader. He is looking at getting rid of it for a newer tractor with 4wd as he gets more land and also he hasn't the time to restore it. Quote
BC Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 I'm sure someone will be interested in that size of tractor for restoration Rob... wrong make and colour for my stable though ;) Quote
robl12 Posted March 12, 2009 Author Posted March 12, 2009 I did think about but again time is against me. He is the envy of several local farmers with it. Quote
Andy Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Interesting picture that. In my research for a prospective FTF model, I have found several Ford Highway models that I previously thought did not exist. The 333 seems to be the most prominent though. Quote
powerrabbit Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 As far as I know the 333 was the industrial 3000, the 555 was the 5000. Quote
nashmach Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Actually just thinking about it here now the 333 could be either an industrial 3000, 3600 or 3610 - I have brochures for them all Quote
Udimore Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 As far as I know the 333 was the industrial 3000, the 555 was the 5000. That was what I thought too Quote
Andy Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 I think the 555 was an American tractor. I have seen some literature on ebay showing a 555 with backhoe loader. Would be interesting to see if the 5000 in the UK / Europe was also 555, as I have seen a Ford 5000 industrial, but decals were missing. Quote

Not sure what sized tractor this one is but I found it at the Royal Show back in 2007. Quote
nick a Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 As far as I know the 333 was the industrial 3000, the 555 was the 5000. ford did 333 as industrial version of 3000 it was a pale yellow, the construction/industrial yellow 333 was based on 3600 tractors. i worked on a number of them fitted with q cabs and ransomes 5/7 hydraulic driven gang mowers. the one pictured at the beginning of this post is 3600 based it has dry type air cleaner and access cover on side of nose cowling.they could suffer over heating problems due to fine grass cuttings and often charging problems more prominent than other models. when fitted with q cab very heavy tractor for its size. mf 40 and 50d better highway tractors withinboard wet disc brakes. Tractorman810 Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 the mod ran 3 ford indys down here for a long time, they looked like a 3600 but were decalled 333's on the bonnets replaced them with 4610's with ap cabs ,which i think they are still running Quote
Lucy jane Posted April 24 Posted April 24 I own, as far as I know, the only Ford 333 Highway still going. She is used only for shows and is a memorial tractor for breast cancer awareness. Quote
