JEP
Some photos of my on-going Dominator 105 build, not in any order - will try and post some more up later - having problems downloading photos . All details/photos/measurements taken from my friends machine - although I am putting the later Lambourne type cab on - as fitted from the 1978 season (measurements for this cab taken from a scrap 105 that my friend retained for spares). JEP
Many thanks for that Cyril. Managed to put a few more photos up, at this stage, many bits not sitting 100% straight or flush (cab/cab roof/tank lid/some of the guards etc) as nothing is stuck together - parts are just placed in situ either in slots/locator pins - or with a bit of good old blue tack! to make sure they all fit. At the moment its a bit like an air-fix kit with many individual pieces, quite a few of the smaller detail bits have already been primed, (the parts that I know will fit ) although there are a few more small details/bits & pieces to finish off, then disassemble ready for primer coat & paint. JEP
Many thanks for that James, I am hoping to put it with the USK Dominator 85's. Paul, Mark, SPN, Ol, Chris & John - many thanks for the positive comments, Thank you Dan - I am hoping to put those two 8 ton Marstons to use with the combine at some point! Many thanks David - will try & keep it updated....you will have to get back down here for some photos of the real one in the summer! Thank you Brian - do you like the rear wheels? Thanks Sean - if it turns out half as good as your combines I will be more than happy! Thank you Joe, re the seat - I can't take any credit for that , that is the work of U-H - Class Jaguar - as is the steering wheel (& diesel tank - albeit with a few slight modifications). as these items where also fitted to the Dominator 85/105. I have to say that U-H's detail and measurements are spot on! ....... I wish U-H where still doing these older class models, as in my opinion they are the finest detailed 1:32 combines/SPFH that have been produced, when the Matador is compared with the Norev Senator for example - they are worlds apart in terms of detail and accuracy. Once again, thank you for the positive comments, very encouraging
MB Trac
Yes the rear wheels look spot on. There was plenty of machining in them. I would love to see a set of aluminium centers for the front wheels........it can be arranged

JEP
Many thanks Jamie, Niels & Farmersam, much appreciated. Out of interest put the 105 alongside a later Norev Dominator, and I was quite surprised to find there is very little difference in the basic layout of the machines - rear hoods are identical,(design & dimensions) tank & engine bays are the same length (although the tank is wider and taller on the newer machine), and when you look at where the main drives/grain augers/unloading augers fit - they are basically the same machine! obviously lots of new tin work on the later machines, and a much better cab - and use of electronics, but given that the 100/105's date back to the early 70's - and the 108/118 up-to the mid 90's there isn't a huge of difference...... (although maybe a driver of the two machines would disagree )
alf aphid
Incredible, looks so right in terms of dimensions, makes me want to take something on, but I fear I would only disappoint myself )
Niels
Well JEP you cracked it really. If you look at the specifications Claas change VERY little on their combines. Funny they are regarded the best combine manufacturer by many. From the SF right up to the Dominator it's all the same on the inside! Threshing drum, the heart of the machine, never changed! Claas bought the manufacturer Bautz who had already build the 'Dominator'. All they did was further develop it and create a new model. Then everything was the same until the Lexion got released in 95? All the machines from 95 up to 2015 are either Dominator or Lexion pedigree. It's the panels, cabs and electronics that change. Not the way they are build. However, let us not forget NH, Case and JD are doing the same with their designs. it is minor alterations, cosmetics and engines mainly. JEP
Not a lot more done really Mark, other than header pretty much finished, although I need to put an order in for some plastruct (tube/round rod/rectangle strip etc) to get some of the little details sorted on the combine - I did have them - but I've used most of it on two Weeks trailers (7 ton smoothrider & a Super 10 - 10 tonner), which are both now finished - but not yet sprayed. I then want to use the trailers with the 105 & USK 85's in a diorama.
