Popular Post 844john
Another build that I started a few years ago and then came to a standstill, so I thought in between doing the other two tractors I would crack on with this as well ( I do get bored easily and like a change). Anyway, progress so far, wheels are just popped underneath to give an idea of proportions :

Thanks Ian, actually the cab wasn't too bad, the tricky bit has been getting the geometry of the back actor right, but scaling down the real measurements accurately has worked out spot on, I suppose JCB got it right so there's no excuse for me !

Yeah geometry is a tricky one, especially getting the movement from the arm without hydraulic rams coming up too short or too long. Can't always build it exactly as the manufacturer did either, usually making stronger mods here and there. I've taken on 4 Hymac 270s with fully working arms and it's a chore, won't be making any more!

After picking it up again, I can see myself that i have become a bit neater in my work and some of the original build seems a little crude in places, but I'm sure I can sort it out as I go along I actually started building two, one as a gift for someone, so hopefully I can get number two back under way again! Popular Post 844john
Some more work done on the back actor, this has proved quite tricky getting the extra-dig to function as the real deal. However, a bit of patience and trial and error and we've got there

For the front I was going to use the rear wheels of the original Britains Loadall, for the rears I have some off a 3cx, not sure of the manufacturer, but they are a good likeness for the real ones.
844john
Bucket made for back actor, and loader headstock added. The JCB this is modelled on has a home made headstock to allow it to take other attachments as well as its 4 in 1, so I've replicated that here
