SPN
How do those rear wheels compare to the rear wheels on the MF 188 and the wheels on the MF 1200? The fronts look like they have been lifted straight from the 390. Great to see the bonnet has been redone.
Tractorman810
the 188 ones are wider for sure, think ? they are bigger diameter as well , can check as i have all 3 in the shed ,the replicagri 188,the original 595 like those , and uh 1200’s

justy 46
There was a limited 575 4wd done 3 years ago.. Guaranteed a 2wd version well come too. I always wondered why UH never done the Ford 5000 6Y in 1/32 considering the their 6X has had a very long production run obviously meaning it's a top seller. That casting has so much potential to go all the ways threw the 7A range also.

Tractorman810
have to say now i have one out of the box and i have had a proper look you can see why it doesn't steer, which is a real shame, the tie bar fitted is two peice, and is screwed in place in the middle, no idea why, could have easily used the uh 2620 ? 2wd axel for it.i know most of the uh vintage 2wd axels aint great, very fragile, but this is prob the worst done to date . hopefully a normal run comes out ,dont really want to go playing to much with it,as it may yet go back in the box if they do a run .can alter that just fine then, first pics the 2620 one, the second the new one on the 590’s

Toyfarmer1
Sean, How is it done under a 300 or 600 series model. Tyres and rims look from one of those series to me.
Tractorman810
hi jos i have not got a 300 series to hand, thats up in the loft ,sure some here has one mind, i didnt buy the 600 twin set,as i already had a 690 convo, to tight as well 😀😀 think the axels a full new one mind, the wheels and tyres certainly are, they are a lot wider than the uh390 for sure ,and the ones on the 690 going by the pics . phil phoenix
MF pioneered the popular tyre size 650/85 R38 on these big 8000 series tractors. I remember a friend of mine who was the driver of the first 8170 sold in the UK back in 1998 complaining that he preferred his old 710 R38s tyres on his previous machine over the then new tech tyres😄. The 8170 was followed 6 months later by the 8180 and then both got replaced quite quickly with the 8270/80 machines. It looks like this new model has the right size tyres on it which are commonly used today by JD on their 6215Rs especially. Making this 8280 tractor model a good tyre donor😉 UH have done the minimum with this model, stretched the chassis, fitted a new longer bonnet and fitted bigger tyres. Where they have slipped up is the exhaust stack, they've used the same one as on the 8220/8250 where as the 8280's was a beast of a thing...................see pics below including an new 8270 sat next to a 8240 in Mark Weatherhead's yard, year 2000. To be fair UH have made a pretty decent model of it. Edited May 1, 2022 by phil phoenix
