Hey Smithy has Goodie heard when the new Case Pumas are getting launched yet?   Must be coming soon.

I asked Goodie about the pumas and he said he had not heard anything , normally the dealers are the last ones to be told so they keep selling the old stock ones

Nice 604 there Smithy thanks for sharing your photo's :)... would be a nice addition to the 804 in the shed, quite a few of the 602/604's got tweeaked up to 70hp as the engine was a derated version in this range, and for a bit of a saving over the 702/704 a tweek at the pump got you the bigger tractor at cheaper cost, with a livelier engine as the 4/98dt had different pistons to the nt tractor engine, a good mate Mr Woodhouse had a Dt with the pump and turbo kit off an 4/98tt (804) on it and he said it would out perform the standard 804 and also the 804 that he'd put a 6 cylinder 6/98 in when he was running Marshalls in his contracting fleet. The 844 be another as i don't think many of the Steyr badged engineered Marshalls got a away, was a bit to late and a half hearted attempt to try and get Marshall a few sales...

Nearly bought a Massey 35, pretty rusty and they wanted £1800 for it. I said I would have it but changed my mind as I've been saving for a Series II Land Rover for a long time now so better spent on one of them. You live and learn -_-

Managed to get our bit of hay done between last Saturday and Wednesday, only about 5 acres for the ponies which does them for the year. Gone from a 4' to 6' mower which speeded the job up & seems to have saved a load of diesel. Wife hauled last load in just as forecast rain started, couldn't of been closer finish, happy days.:). Wuffled straight after mowing & again next morning, certainly cut the drying time down.

I read somewhere about another farmer who had bought a Branson tractor that went wrong and left him in a Pickle.

Lots of different tractors of all ages have been whizzing around my village getting hay cut, teddered, raked and baled in various little fields.  How much is a good quality round bale fetching this year Smithy??

I have asked a couple of mates that do a few round bales and they said they are about £30 to £35

no pictures of what was left of my rape crop ,we ripped most of it up in the spring and redrilled with spring barley . The little black dots on side of combine are the dreaded Flee Beetle that devastate the crop , while cutting the rape combine looked like a yellow ladybird

I remember getting a ride round the field back in 1989 in a new MF38 and compared to the Claas 108sl and TX36s that my mates farm ran that Massey cab was a palace:) For a few years there MF had the others on the run, then Claas brought out the Mega series and NH the TX60s and it was game over!!

Can relate to that, mates farm ran 2 tx36's, and replaced one of the TX's with a MF38, then a couple of years later replaced the other tx with a MF40, as you say - cabs on the massey was a big jump, and while the masseys would perform well when going, they did seem to become unreliable after 2 or 3 seasons. The 2 masseys eventually got replaced with with a lexion 480 which at the time seemed a quantum leap forward (with a monster 30ft header!!)
