Matbro teleram 40

Recommended Posts

Well not finished, inner boom needs blackening and rams need paint plus a few hoses etc, but nevertheless she is quite well on. Yes of course there are a few errors and inexperienced bits, but largely pretty pleased with the old girl. There are now at least two 1 32 telerams in the country!

Any redundant chargers or leads from old electrical equipment i find a good source for flexible wire once you've removed the outer sheath. For the stiff pipes running along the boom I used cake decorators wire, I find it useful for lots of jobs as it comes in different thicknesses, and there's always plenty to hand.....the wife does decorated cakes!;) As for colour, it doesn't matter whether it's red, green or whatever, I just lie it on a piece of paper and run up and down it with a permanent marker....

phone cable is what i use for thin pipes, being copper it allows a nice bend where needed, i just pick a load out of the skip as required, comes in loads of colours , black blue red white yellow and others to name a few so most of the primary colours you see on pipes

i have some 0.4mm in the shed, various colours, but we do .32 mm 0.4 mm 0.5mm and 0.6mm we do use 0.9mm but thats normally an order in job, so not that common, the rest is always around .

Enough there for a few builds Sean! I found an old phone in the shed so now sorted! I knew there was good reason why I don’t throw anything out!
