Nice looking models. You will have to buy a shipping container next 40fter to keep all you perches in. I'd be the same but with not working I rezly have to watch my spending and hide it from the wife... do you have a number of how many models you own?

Just taken delivery of a Ros Lemken Jewel 10 plough. Was considering investing in a prime mover which fits with the plough linkage height and width. Any thoughts on a Challenger MT875E, for those who have purchased the plough?

Don't think it would fit the 875E linkage as it has the US style category 4 linkage,Reckon a better bet would be the Fendt 943 MT Vario which has a more standard 3 point linkage,

For 7 furrows I'd say 500hp is a little overkill... I'm planning on getting one myself and mounting it to my usk claas axion 850. A challenger 775e might be more realistic?

Received my first Weise model today, over all its very nice and I have no complaints with the detail. This particular example has some quality issues though. Most noteable is the complete absence of one of the rear 3 point lift arm sway stabilizers.

Very different from the norm, as I had left it too late to get a 626, I got this Schuco Fendt 622.  An excellent model of a rare beast.  Also have a Ros Fendt 724, will post up a picture at some point.

Marge NH T7.315 HD should be plenty (if the linkage is suitable)

If you write or email them, they will send the parts out to you for free in some cases.

Thanks Joe, I hadn't realised how adaptable the Fendt linkage is, my other thought was a Wiking 828 , best regards Mike

Cheers Mike,I just went with the MT in keeping with your first thought of the rubber tracked Challenger,If i remember correctly the general rule of thumb was 30HP per furrow,But there is near me,( on hilly ground ) a JCB 8330,pulling a Lemken Jewel 6 furrow plough,

Regards

Joe.

I've seen a Case Magnum 340 on a 7 furrow Kverneland, so that sort of hp would be about right, the Fendt MT sounds a good plan Mike.  I think the 828 would be fine too though

people will say years ago that a 7 furrow plough would have been pulled by something smaller, and probably would have been, and some still are,but in a modern set up anywhere between 280hp and 300 would be more than adaquate

have seen a  6 furrow on a ford 7810 ,also seen one on mf 1250 in the past  ,so many variables to work on inc soil type you farm, how deep you plough even, on our suffolk  clay, the 1250 would struggle with 6, just about  handled 5 in some fields, in others 5 flew through it

look at the soil in both those pics though justin, i very much doubt the top pic could have dragged all six, balanced out with equal weight  front and rear ,maxing grip on the 4wd , yes, the bottom one ,the soils so light looking it would prob blow away with a good fart :D . as i mentioned, so many variables to setting a plough up, in turn effecting how many you drag ,its a true art form watching a good plough man set up.
