NIGEL FORD
Power Major when I was about 9 then Dad traded it in for a new "New Performance" Super Dexta when I was 10, though I ploughed with the Super Major & 4 furrow Ransomes running back up the field "empty" with front wheels pawing the air, flat out in 5th The foot brakes were so stiff on the Majors ( due to regular dousings in mud taking feed out to the cow field in winter as we had no housing for the Dairy herd until 1978!) that even the old man used to pull on the handbrake to stop them. Dexta brakes were fine though.
