Certainly the tinworks the same, I expect all the differences are within the machine. In other words Marge wouldnt have to do much to make the 6s into 7s if they want. Anyone agree or disagree? Probably why MarGe are offering 8 versions of the Lexion, Unlike Wiking who only ever did the 780,??, MarGe probably did a lot of R and D and figured not every collector wanted the top of the range machine and catered for all tastes. catkom3
MarGe said they were producing their headers to be compatible with the Wiking's, so should do, Regards Joe.

phil phoenix
Thanks joe, I wasnt aware of that. I thought 6 and 7s were both narrow body. I tried taking the 6900 track idler system off but it wasnt possible without really forcing the issue which would cause damage. And the set on the Jaguar tt wont inter change with the Lex tt, they are different and the track lengths are different as well. I took all the idlers off each model and tried swapping them, but it doesnt work out. You would have to buy the whole track system from Toys/ Farm and remove the existing one by sawing through the spindle as it wont prise apart. Then you could fit it but would probably need a extended spindle as the lex is much wider than the Jag. I will stick with what ive got as the 30ft header suits my layout.
catkom3
Just a thought Phil, But the 6800's won't be released untill June, Maybe they will have a narrower body, MarGe have done several variations of they're models, You never know,?? Regards Joe.
phil phoenix
Well they are nice models but how many of them would appear in the UK in the specs Marge have launched them in? The 8900tt has the folding spout which is a must for a 45ft header, but the 8800s & 8700 dont?? The 8800 & 8700 on wheels and a 45ft header and standard spout!! I think not. And all 8s and 6s have the wide tracs which are as popular as Boris Johnsons new house decorations. The only model of the 8 that theres a decent chance of seeing in the UK in the same format is the 6800 on wheels with 30ft cutterbar if we are being honest. The 6900 would be on tracks (The narrow ones🙄) and probably 35ft header.
catkom3
Presumably Claas would ultimately be calling the shots and want all the whistles and bells, But I still think the folding section on the auger is surplus to requirement, Not needed on that 45ft header, But if demo reports are true they could easily up the length of that header. Stabliofarmer
I see that the big Nooteboom lowloaders are landing on these shores, they certainly make for a very imposing model! I expect given their price and the detail level and build quality they'll gain alot of purchases from those use to 1:50th trucks or 1:24 model kits. I'm curious to see how things expand with Marges range though as this feels like a useless model, there's very little around that suits sitting on the bed, admittedly their new combines will sit nicely, but a 6 axle lowloader, or even a four axle low bed is alittle overkill for moving combines. I'm loving that Marge are bringing these new trucks, but I feel theres such better subjects they could have chosen. Would love to hear what others think? The beauty of these low loaders is just that James, LOW, the six axles is really overkill for agricultural use, but that low bed is essential for tall equipement, the Lexion's the Vervaet's, the beet harvesters, with a legal height restriction of 16' 6" ie 5.2 mtrs in the U.K. the stepframes are way to tall, PS, did anyone notice on MarGe's latest model list there is not one agricultural model on it apart from the Lexion's that is,?? Regards Joe. Edited June 4, 2021 by catkom3
Stabliofarmer
A two or three axle low bed swan neck Nootboom would fit the bill for that roll though Joe, I suspect they felt they needed to introduce something drastically different to the earlier tri axle semi lowloader. And the 4 axle volvo was the perfect way to use all the castings again while getting people to buy a second model. Arguably a longer chassis with a flatbed for a rigid truck would have been a better way of using the moulds for the farming customer. Unless of course Marge intend to turn the model world on it's head and alter the scale people collect in, I know Techno and to a lesser extent WSI are gaining a poor reputation for quality with lots of models arriving in pieces, maybe they're seeing a shift to 1:32 as the way to solve their quality issues, but I think that's me dreaming abit! catkom3
Yes James, kinda makes you wonder what MarGe might have in the pipeline, Ten axles is a bit big down on the farm, Regards Joe.

catkom3
You could very well be correct Sean, They may just have used the 1/32nd scale models to break into the model scene, As I recall they were originally paired up with WSI, who specialise in 1/50th trucks and construction models and World wide I would think that is a much bigger market for them, Regards Joe.
catkom3
It'll be interesting to see if MarGe produce these in 1/32nd scale as they are both Dutch, And were probably aware these would be due at some point,?? Regards Joe.

AndyB
Had notification that MarGe prices will be going up between 5 and 6% from July 1st. Eg. an 85 Euro piece becomes a 90 Euro piece....... Sign of the times I think!
catkom3
Inevitable the amount of detail in models these days, not helped by World wide events. Regards Joe.

justy 46
Dont pick me up wrong... And great for the truck collectors. But wouldn't it be great if Marge just went back to their roots for a few realises and done a few more classic Ford's or anything classic type tractor.. MF, Case anything. Thinking off their Ford 10 Series and TWs.... I would love for them to have a cut off an 8210/ 7910..
