Your farm model highlights of the year!

Recommended Posts

A little topic to keep people occupied in the dead spot between Christmas and New Year.

Despite a continuation of the pandemic its felt like a good year for releases and scratch building, so what's been your highlights and why? The more photos the better.

For me the year started off with a bang finishing the Heath Bale Chasers, a build I'm still very proud of. They marked the culmination of the last 5/6 years building models and learning new skills. And has been closed off in style with Marge releasing the Scania R Series models. A brilliant heavy model that demonstrates Marge continued efforts to provide high detail truck models in 1:32, I really thought the first Volvos would be a one-off so this was a pleasure to see.

From a manufacturer it would have to be the Marge Claas lexion, got 3 in my collection 8900TT, 8700TT North American and 6900TT all Claas editions, really well built and realistic models, I apologise for the average photos, there not easy to get good photos off due to there size!

It has been a good year for me with several new Same releases especially from the lesser known model makers with the Samecar one of the favourites. Some of the others, such as the Hercules and related offerings from Schuco were not particularly good and were copies of other, better, versions from people like FM Modelbau. At the end of the year there is also the most welcome news of yet another from Modelagrisystem, the Drago version.

Seems this year I began to add UH 1/16s to my collection including Ford Pre Force 5000,7000,MF 175 and DB 996.  A few 1/32s were added aswell. I seem to be gathering a few classic implements now also into the collection from mostly UH. I was disappointed enough with the Schuco Same Hercules 160 for the money....a nice tractor but missing the functionality and build quality off other models for the high price off it.  This year I might gather a few more Britains Hertiage, Replicagri MF 188 and maybe 1 or 2 ROS NH T7s....UH 1/16 Ford 7600 is also on the list.

It's been an odd year for models, I seem to be growing out of a vast collection and now tend to focus on my classics which suit the farm, I haven't got it yet but a certain highly talented modeller  we all knows WIP combine should hopefully be the icing on the cake for this year👌👌 cannot wait but I'm not sure he will see this the Facebook fame might have got to him 🤣🤣🤣 @844john

I'd have to agree with Ben on the Marge Lexion as my model release of the year.  I wasn't going to get one, but the 'smaller' 6800 with 930 is just the job for my fleet.

Also was very glad to get a Challenger Rogator sprayer this year which I'd hankered after for some time.

I was impressed with the Britain's Claas Xerion as well - I didn't keep it as I bought a UH 3800, but that went missing so ended up without a Xerion.  May get the Wiking one next year?

I'd heard after the fame of a Classic Tractor feature he had to upgrade security to a padlock on the workshop, after joining Facebook I believe the fame has forced an investment in full CCTV! pan widget

No idea what one is James, but a pan widget sounds painful 😲

I am lucky to be an owner of one of James' Heath Bale Chaser kits, which remains unbuilt for now.

Other highlights of the year have been the Marge Lexion 6800TT and the Replicagri MF188, which others have mentioned too.

One I love that hasn't been mentioned already is the Marge T7.315HD in Terracotta.

In 2022 I'm hoping we'll see ROS produce a Tier V T7.270 and Replicagri produce an MF175. I'm looking forward to getting the Marge New Holland SPFH and hoping we'll finally see the UH New Holland TX66 land.

From Weise or Schuco, I'd love a Deutz DX85 2wd and a Fendt Farmer 311 2wd.

Finally, I really hope I can get a model from County Durham this year. John knows the one I'm hoping for. Fingers crossed.
