Some nice looking ploughing going on there Mike. I noticed a couple of tractor have horse shoes attached to the front grills is this an English thing....I have never noticed that before.

That Grey Ferguson with the 4 cylinder engine and the front weight box and side (belly tank???) certainly looks different It has the Perkins badge on it but normally these Fergies were fitted with the P3 engine. I'm wondering if it is a 4 cylinder if they have managed to fit an L4 instead  The L4 was normally used as a replacement diesel in the Fordson E27 N's.

I don't get out onto farms anywhere as much as I used to but occasionally I manage to see something of interest.

This wasn't a farm, more of a breakers yard and most of the stuff was vans and cars but he did have a few old tractors hidden amongst the rest of the metal.

This is still used to haul wrecks around the yard.

Whist this one was hitched to a roller

Apparently this Leyland was a recent purchase from a farm sale and looked in good condition for its age

There were a few old Masseys where the cabs were on the point of disintegrating

And an equally tired David Brown

In the shed was an MF35 with the 4 cylinder engine, this was a runner when it was put away but hasn't been started for a while

And then deep in the undergrowth was a Fordson Major

Had to call at another farm today and saw that he uses nothing except John Deeres, mostly classics. Apparently at one time he had 7 JD 2850's but now only has 2 left

This was the newest one I saw JF 6430 and loader

Then a slightly older loader tractor

Unfortunately that was all I had time for but I could see a few others across the yard : :'(

Stopped at a service station on the A580 near St Helens and saw this rather nice modern New Holland ploughing at the back. I was amazed how quiet it was you could hardly hear the engine running at all.

Its been a while since I added to this topic but I saw an outfit harvesting fodder beet today. Unfortunately I was wearing my good shoes and I had another appointment to go to so I couldn't go into the field and had to take the pictures over the hedge but you will get the idea.

Matrot 6 row beet harvester and NH 7.185 with Richard Weston trailer

Bit miffed today. The local garden centre had a tractor event on today and I almost forgot about it. Suddently remembered just after 1 and then had to run around getting things organised to try and get there. I pulled up in the car park just after 3 and it transpired that at 3pm they were all off on a road run so they werre all driving out as I was driving in. It was a great shame as there were some real beauties there as well. I did manage to get a few just before they left as well, (but at least one of them was a Same  )
