Paul Palmer's conversions

i remmber on here the universal hobbies ford 6610 gen 1 4wd was slated,wrong wheels,wrong mudguards etc,i have bought one today,from a new holland dealer, a damaged one so got a good price,my question is did they ever have a roof hatch,i didnt think they did,any ford experts please enlighten me please

im going to reduce the width of the mirrors,it doesnt look right,also got to touch up the bonnet and replace the bonnet nose decal

I don’t think they had a roof hatch Paul. In fact I’m fairly certain of it, at least not in the  uk. It could have been because they offered air con on some q cabbed models.
Something in the back of my mind tells me that certain overseas markets had to have a roof hatch by law as an extra escape route but I don’t know when that came into action. My 7610 certainly looks like it could have easily been fitted with a hatch, the headlining has a drop down access panel just the right size and position for one.

Managed to get hold of Ian of tabmodels and i have bought some bits for my britains ford 6600, side lights, resin rear mudguards with moulded rear light clusters and indicators, a mirror and windscreen wiper and cab steps, these will really make the 6600 more realistic, plus i have got Rear wheels and tyres from a uh ford 5000, cant wait to start this one
