Thanks Justin, no, I know what you mean, I've just ordered another copy of the ford conversions book as quite a number of the pages of the one that i have are falling out as well, mostly of Muir Hill's..... I put it down to long periods sat open on my workbench! I'll take much better care of these two!;)

Are you two using these books as intended? It sounds like they have had some rather vigorous use...🤪💦💦

Pretty sure I had an older version of that book whilst I was at Ag College 76-79, not a clue what happened to it but if I ever do find it you are welcome to have it

Thanks ever so much Mike. I think there's 11 or 12 editions in total. I can recall the Library at Askham Bryan College still having most if not all when I was there 2002 to 2004.

I've seen that discussed on Facebook recently, be interested to know what its like compared to the Brian Bell book...I imagine more in depth? I've looked on Ebay for a recent ish copy but they've all been a bit pricey.

I have most of the Brian Bell editions too and whilst the Claude Culpin books follow a very similar layout they are definitely significantly more in depth. This example was a steal, £10 including postage, i've seen some examples and other editions make up to £80 on eBay.

Good find there mate, must keep an eye out for one.  There was one which I nearly bought but looked to be quite rough condition.

Thanks mate delighted with it. There's a 12th edition on eBay at the moment with a seller from Merseyside at £64, and there's a nice looking 5th edition at £10 too.

Some recent editions, firstly a set of Patrick Dyer’s brilliant books on classic era trucks, the Ford Transconti one took a bit of tracking down but it’s proved invaluable for my current build

Found this book in China, basically a model tractor collector has photographed his collection and turned it into a book.  Looks pretty nice.  This is the translation of the blurb inside the cover:

About the Author:

Wang Jiahua, born in October 1981, Qingdao, Shandong

People, Scorpio, currently living in Shanghai.

Graduated from Zhejiang University majoring in information engineering, and then studied in the IMBA program of Hong Kong University and Fudan University to earn an MBA degree.

Hobby collection, especially in the collection of agricultural machinery models

The field has been devoted to research for nearly 10 years, has collected nearly a thousand agricultural machinery models, and has taken nearly 100,000 model pictures.

We get quite a few applications for FTF membership from Hong Kong and China and we almost always reject them as the vast majority turn out to be spammers however, it just shows that there are also some good ones out there but it is very difficult to differentiate between them

Few recent additions make for an interesting read. Finally got my hands on a Roadless book by Stuart Gibbard. s-l1600(1).jpg.e150eea1a4af73432be25e750212bade.jpg9780852363447.jpg.40f7eb16375c4f541f80a29a5468d75e.jpg

Although not farming related book, a very interesting one nonetheless about how clever russian spies were mapping the world during ww2. Scary what they knew!

I also had this book waiting under the tree this year after a quick browse of a lecturers copy back at Uni, really interesting read so far!

In the Stuart Gibbard County book, there's a picture of a crawler upside down in the road. The building behind it is the old Fleet police station. Couldn't have chosen a worse place!

Last ones for now...

A bit disappointed with the 500 Era book. Lots of info inside, and lots of pictures. But editor please note... Not only are some of the pictures duplicated in different chapters, many have been reversed - which on the face of it may not be noticeable apart from the huge back-to-front MF on the bonnet sides, and excepting the fact that the subject of the topic is invariably a single door machine with the door clearly on the wrong side. One picture is even upside down.Photo0913.thumb.jpg.525b72f870683da165909058b2ed0a66.jpg

Put this in to test the crazy level!
